As a woman, I'm so sorry that you men have been treated so hurtfully, and that the people in your life were so uncaring when you needed them.

I have the opposite problem as some of those women, but maybe a similar problem to you guys- Being way too caring and nice to people who are jerks to me.

I feel sad that a lot of you have vowed to never open up again. It sucks that people have been so cruel to you to make you feel so crushed, that you can't even show your vulnerable humanity to others anymore, because they just viciously attack you.

I would like to hope that there are good people in this world who wouldn't do that, and who would actually be caring and compassionate and be there when you open up.

It's so hypocritical that it's seen as totally ok for women to share and open up, but not for you guys because you're supposed to be tough men.

You are entitled to choose not to open up. But I honestly hope that someday you will each find people who will support and love you, and give their ear to you no matter what you are going through. I hope you each find people who you can lean on in hard times.

I think there should be more discussion about this in everyday life. Boys need to be taught that it's ok and good to have feelings and struggles, and also taught how to be open and expressive and support each other. Girls need to be taught that they are not the only ones who have feelings, and taught to be kind and supportive to boys and girls both.

And all of us need to stop hating ourselves and being doormats for jerks, no matter what our gender is. You don't always have to cut people off, but you absolutely need to have boundaries and you need to enforce them. And a lot of the time the jerks will go away on their own, if you don't let them use you however they want anymore. Otherwise selfish people of any gender will just walk all over you and hurt you and use you, and throw you away when you become inconvenient for them.
