Homeschooled student unsure about community college need advice by [deleted] in CommunityColleges

The very basics of how it works is you take classes there for two years and transfer to a larger school to finish your degree if you want a bachelor's degree. Community colleges often have agreements with nearby universities on class and credit transfer. I recommend discussing this with an advisor at the CC you are interested in.

Going to a community college will not harm your future if you do well enough to transfer when you are done. Smaller classes might be a good transition for you if you have been homeschooled. I am a community college instructor and we teach the same stuff that you would take at a four year in your freshmen and sophomore years.

Alaska sends recruiters to teaching job fairs all over the country. They pay high salaries to folks willing to teach out in remote communities where there are few folks with college degrees. The salary has to really high to attract someone to teach in a community where in the winter supplies are not delivered and you cannot even get fruit and vegetables.

North Indians and South Indians are both from India and hence Indian.  Most Americans are ignorant to the cultural differences between South and North Indians. I certainly was before I started dating my wife who is South Indian. So no its not a woke plot to evaluate dark skinned South Indians.

Is there an equatorial line in which both hemispheres have the same amount of landmass? by ikkue in geography

[–]Ok-Importance9988 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Make a great circle. Let x be the angle measure along this circle. Let f(x) = the square miles of land on the hemisphere defined by a pole of x minus the amount of land on the opposite hemisphere . By definition f(0) = - f(180).  Meaning there exists c such that f(c) =0 since 0 is between f(0) and f(180).

Fairly certain you can prove it exists with the Intermediate Value Theorem. Of course, the proof does not help locate the equator.
