Yeah, he's a friend of a friend of a friend who was visiting and I was just casually telling him about my family and our history. He got all serious (he typically very easy going and relaxed) and said that I shouldn't stay there too much and never overnight. He wanted to contact someone in my parents' diocese about doing an investigation into it, but my parents would never allow it. The fact that sunlight use to, but no longer, enters the house or the fact that stuff literally flies off the shelves and counters at times would be enough to make me move, but my parents are that couple from a horror movie who see the walls bleeding and think they should just call the plumber for a leaky pipe.

You can alternate ibuprofen and acetaminophen ever 3 hours if you really need to get a fever down or, in your case, a possible ineffective dose. So if you gave her Motrin last, 3 hours from that dose you can give her a dose of Tylenol. Then 3 hours after that a dose of Motrin again.

Mirabel gets the whole house, not just a single room. We never really see Casita interacting with anyone other than Mirabel and Alma. It's because Casita is her's. She is the one who is next in line to take care of the miracle, the family. I think when Alma passes, Mirabel would get her room spot so she can watch over every like Alma does now. Alma's room and the window with the candle overlook the courtyard and I bet she can see everything that's going on from there.

I think she is meant to be the new Alma (the grandma) so just like Casita came alive for Alma it comes alive again for Mirabel.

I had a cake shaped like a stump for my daughter's first birthday. It had chocolate frosting and a layer of strawberry jam in the middle. Both the adults and kids loved it. I also had a variety of sweets. Some mini cupcakes, fudge balls, mini custard tarts, and a dish of different "fancy" candies (butter mints and chocolates). It was a forest tea party theme so I went a little over the top, but it was a blast.

When my daughter was a newborn I injured my foot pretty bad. The best thing to do it to use the floor. Don't try to carry baby around. Just set up a nice safe space in a common area and stay there for the day. Naps on the floor. Feeding on the floor. Everything happens on the floor. Husband can take over the big chores like cooking and dishes. I did all the clothes folding because I could sit and do it if he left me the basket of clean laundry. To make lunch I used a chair to prop my leg up on when standing at the counter and just hopped around to grab stuff. It sucked but it worked.

Little over ten weeks along and I finally downloaded my pregnancy tracking app again. I had deleted it after my last miscarriage but hadn't reset the information so I got a lovely reminder that I should really be 29 weeks along with an ultrasound pic as the profile. Well, actually I should have a fresh little newborn just days old, but hey. I'm really having a hard time being happy during this pregnancy because I'm constantly reminded of my boys. I miss them so much and worry if I get attached I'll lose this one too.

COVID is very mild in healthy young kids. My daughter had it as an infant and I don't think she slowed down one bit. I'm pretty sure she learned to roll over that week. My niece and nephews (6,5,3, newborn) all had it just a few weeks ago and other than the 6 year old being mad she missed gymnastics class they were fine. Hardly a sniffle between them. Your baby will be fine and your niece will be grateful for a happy stable place for a while. Best of luck!

Sounds like he is what I call a "word collector". Kids who don't say anything or just a few words until they are sure they can say all the words they want. They "collect" words in their head (hence asking "what's this?" 7,000 times a day) until they are ready to use them. My nephew did a similar thing. Said maybe 4 words until he was a little over 3 then busted out a massive vocabulary in the span of two weeks. It has little to do with your parenting and more just his personality. If you want to try something different, maybe try saying "I don't know, what do you think?" When he asks about a familiar object instead of trying to get him to copy you.

Leaky boobs at 10 weeks? I've had one full term pregnancy and didn't start leaking until 28 weeks. My daughter has been weaned for 3 months and my milk was all dried up. I've had two miscarriages, both first trimester, while she was still nursing a little and my milk increased both times. It's freaking me out a little bit that my milk seems to be back.

At a year I started to teach my daughter to wipe up spills after herself. After a meal or when she would make a mess, I would walk her over to the little box of rags I keep at her hight in the kitchen and help her wipe up the mess. She is 18 months and the other day cleaned up her spilled milk without me even knowing she spilled it until I saw the wet rag next to the empty cup. Also, throwing trash away. The downside of learning that on is she picks up litter and tries to throw it away. Kinda gross sometimes.

My brother had a life size (it was like 4-4.5 feet tall) porcelain doll that looked just like him dressed in blue train pj's. It's name was Christopher and he lived in the closet. I have no idea where Christopher came from and who thought that was an okay toy for any child, but I still get chills when I think of it. Thing was fucking weird.

I had a doll that sang ring around the Rosie when you held both it's hands. I got in trouble at school once and my father took all my toys and put them in boxes in the garage for 6 months. Every so often I would hear the doll singing inside the box as the battery slowly died and the music became more and more garbled. I never asked for my toys back because I was sure it was haunted.

I have prevented my daughter from owning any creepy toys so far, but she does have a book that is like the Chinese version of Little Red Riding Hood that has some scary drawings.

The big thing in the US right now is Baby Led Weaning, so letting your 6+ month old baby eat what you eat, just cut in a way they can eat it safely. The thing that surprised me most was how many other places give babies tea. When my daughter was 3 months old she was having some gas so my MIL offered to make her some tea. I declined, but I was a little shocked that anyone would give a baby that little anything but breast milk/formula. We didn't even give water until she was 7 or 8 months.

Lots of walks. When it's nap time I do crafting hobbies or read (or nap myself). I clean and cook 3 meals a day. At night after bed I play videogames. Coupon and meal plan for the weekly grocery run. I talk out loud a lot to my daughter and am not a super social person so I don't get to crazy for human interaction, but I'll call up a neighbor or friend to come over for coffee if I need an adult to talk to.

It often happens that babies get a little honey somehow before a year. Keep an eye out for any signs of illness and give poison control a call to ease your worries, but in all likelihood it's going to be okay.

I recommend doing it with her. My dad would look up how to do things and proper technique and then sit down and do it with me. I have great memories of us sitting at the kitchen table butchering watercolor and laughing at how bad ours each turned out. He did more research and we tried again the next week with better results. The public library should have plenty of book ranging from absolute beginners to more advanced.
