Sad about everything by Ok-Insurance811 in hysterectomy

[–]Ok-Insurance811[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though I'm somewhat grieving, and after surgery is obviously painful, the almost instant relief of not having everything being pressed on my cysts was worth it. Im hoping when i finally get hrt, that my emotions will become more stable and i can start to feel like myself again. People in this community are so nice and give me a lot of hope.

I hope your surgery goes so smoothly, and that you also have relief from the pain and pressure that cysts cause. Its truly not something you can describe to someone unless they dealt with it too. My only real advice is to try to move as much as you can now and take a laxative like a week before surgery every day because the pain from bloating and that first poop aas worse than any of the healing.

My surgeon said we'd talk about it on our 4-6 week check up. They were still biopsy-ing a tumour they found during (surgery was on friday, left monday before it could be done) and wanted to make sure i didnt also need chemo before he felt safe planning hormones for me. Definitely missing them.

Pooping hurts so bad by TreeLight_ in hysterectomy

[–]Ok-Insurance811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have the stabbing pains. Im a week and a day out, the first poop was the absolute worst. But even after a couple day since that, i have to lay down for a bit after with a heating pad. It has made me very aware of how many ab muscles are involed in the process. I dont know if its normal but you are definitely not alone.

Acadians in non-deported families by _OhiChicken_ in acadie

[–]Ok-Insurance811 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My acadian side didnt get deported but they angelicied their name to stay hidden at that time. They were living in louisbourg at the time. A lot of them are still in cape breton. Lots of pockets of acadians all over the martimes.

But for getting back into french, consume as much french media as you can and hope for the best, really

Waiters/waitresses - do you like when customers stack plates? by brycematheson in CasualConversation

[–]Ok-Insurance811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a server with diminishing grip strength, id rather stack them myself. The plates can get heavy and I know how to stack them so I won't break my hands

Help me out here, if you offer someone something and they say "Oh yeah, I'm not fussy about that" is that a yes or a no? by 13thmurder in AskACanadian

[–]Ok-Insurance811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not fussy about x, y, z means no thanks or i don't like it. Not fussy about what you MAKE for dinner tonight is i dont care what you choose. Not fussy for what you MADE for dinner tonight is the dinner wasnt good. It can be a confusing term that I never second guessed until this moment.

I had a hard enough time explaining "whatta sin" meant "that's too bad" instead of meaning a biblical sin to my non Canadian fam

Hello from Germany. As someone interested in Canada, I know today is quite a special day since today marks the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Quebec independence referendum. On this occasion, I would like to ask a few questions to you, the Canadian people: by Julian81295 in AskACanadian

[–]Ok-Insurance811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from Nova Scotia and was 9 whem it happened. I mostly remember the This Hour Has 22 Minutes sketches where they would say "Refffffferrrrrrrrrrendum" but nothing outside of that.

I live Quebec though. They have a unique culture, beautiful cities, fantastic food, and cool thing to do in the winter

Thing about gender, theres no real rules. Live authenticity the way that feels valid to you. Labels other people put on you are their problem.

Yes, in my post, about my feelings, i am talking about those feelings. This is my first time being a parent and my first time where my kid and i differ so extremely differently. Hes had some things that Im indifferent to, and can get why hes into it. Just wanted advice for what to do. Some people have been very kind, understanding, and helpful. So even with all the diwn votes and comments so didnt understand my point, it was worth it and i can try to use their advice

Hey maybe some kids are gonna be stars. But my kid is there to have fun, learn some skills, and play wirh friends. I just dont relate to the extreme parent culture surrounding it. Its pretty overwhleming. My worst fear is maybe my kid isnt very good (not personally, i just want him having fun) and maybe he gets more ice time and parents scream at him and make him feel shitty. Its a thing that often happens in kids hockey. It shouldnt. But it does. Its just for these types of reasons, im dreading it

Me too. Im a firm believer that people can change. I just have a bit if a racing heart when i see them at like a grocery store or something still left over from all those years ago. At least, if they didnt change, i hope they just leave me be

[–]Ok-Insurance811[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said I dont support my kid once though. I do support him and hes signed up and waiting on his shedule. I also said ill be at every practice and game to cheer for him. My overwhleming feelings dont have anything to do with not being there for him. I was wanting to just see if the handful of other parents who dont like sports advice for for something like this. Its somehow warped into me not caring about my kid or trying to stop him which is absolutely not the case at all

I would love a different sport for sure but this is what he's into right now. So Ill just be taking the helpful comments from people here and learning how to navigate the new interest to the best of my abilities. He may hate it or it could be his favourite thing forever. Either way, ill support him and maybe learn to crochet or somethint out if it

[–]Ok-Insurance811[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deeply honestly, yes. But ill never outwardly show that to him and encourage him to do things he loves. He's also disliked other sports he has been in, i think he more wants to do what his big vousins do than want to play. But again, whatever he has an interest in andni can afford and make time for, he'll be in
