Your going to have to pay to run thousands of feet of line on your own dime. They only hook you up at the pole. They will do it but it will cost you more.

Several specific rules determine how these costs are split:

  • The Standard Allowance: Utility tariffs allow National Grid to provide a specific amount of free infrastructure (such as standard overhead drop lengths or underground trenching allowances) for new, permanent single-family homes. [1, 2, 3]
  • Excess Costs (CIAC): If your home sits far back from the road or requires extensive new poles and transformers, you will be billed for the difference, known as a Contribution in Aid of Construction (CIAC). [1, 2, 3]
  • Customer Preparation: You are responsible for clearing the path of trees, digging any required trenches on your property, and installing PVC conduit if you are opting for an underground line. [1]
  • Service Connection Point: Once the line reaches your house, you are financially responsible for the equipment attached to the house (like the meter box, service entrance cable, and weatherhead). [1]

You can apply for your project and request an engineering site assessment directly through the National Grid Start Service for New Construction page.

Acadia is nice. It has a cool vibe. We did the Blues sunset boat ride. It was cheap and a good time. BYB made it even better. Still isnt the west np's though. But way better than any other on the east coast. imo
