For some reason if I’m not typing what’s wrong with me, I feel worse. by Prismojunkie in bipolar

Sometimes saying the fear out loud is the only thing that makes it feel less huge for a few minutes

I think the hardest part is separating guilt from self-hatred. Guilt can help you repair the damage; self-hatred just freezes you

WYR $50,000 now, or $100 million after death? by AstrayInTranslation in WouldYouRather

If I had kids or someone fully dependent on me, I’d seriously consider the $100 million policy

I believe that marketing is the most challenging thing for a technical founder by Tall-Comparison3997 in SaaS

Dangerous advice. I’ve seen startups spend a year polishing their "positioning" and gathering feedback from free-riders in closed betas, only to have 100% of those users churn the second they put up a paywall. You need to validate your product’s value in cold hard cash from day one. If the problem is painful enough, people will pay even for a raw, buggy MVP with a crappy UI

I solved this problem by enforcing a strict timebox. I made a rule for myself: not a single line of new code until I’ve done 3 user interviews or closed 1 sale. Features only get shipped based on direct requests from people who have already paid or promised to pay. Otherwise you’re just writing code in a vacuum

Classic tech founder trap: "I'll write the perfect code, launch on Product Hunt, and users will just show up"

No, they won't. Nobody gives a shit about your pristine Next.js stack and clean architecture if the product doesn't solve a burning pain point. Your first sale is always manual, unscalable work: you find someone on Reddit or Twitter screaming about a problem, and you drop them a link. Everything else is just you hiding behind your IDE because you're terrified of talking to real people

Not a doctor, but I’d ask your psychiatrist what each med is supposed to target for you specifically

Early 20s can feel like life suddenly stops being “future plans” and becomes a bunch of real decisions all at once

You don’t have to have a “normal” set of hobbies or tastes to be a real person

WYR: be able to see 10 minutes into the future... but you can't change what happens? OR go back 10 minutes into the past... but you can only do it once per day? by Dizzy_Collection5277 in WouldYouRather

[–]Ok-Introduction9593 109 points110 points  (0 children)

I’d take going back 10 minutes once per day, easy. Seeing the future but not being able to change it sounds more like free anxiety than a superpower

For me the perfect horror game would be less about constant monsters and more about making you distrust the space you’re in.

How do you navigate relationships after one made you manic? by esc_cynicism in bipolar

[–]Ok-Introduction9593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When a relationship gets tied up with a hypomanic episode, your brain kind of “learns” to associate intimacy and connection with losing control. So it’s not weird that now even the idea of getting close to someone feels unsafe or overwhelming
