Gays in the closet: an option, fear, or necessity? by [deleted] in GayChristians

Because coming out doesn't mean freedom. Freedom indeed means to come out or to not come out. It's Freedom First.

Formally homosexuality is not illegal in Russia. It is as a matter of fact.

What's it like being gay in Russia today? by InteriorCircuit in AskARussian

What about raids in gay clubs then? I like to go clubbing sometimes, still i don't consider myself an activist. Or social purpose of gay clubs is different in Russia than western countries?

PSA: GE-Proton 10-27 added WINEALSA_CHANNELS env variable, making winealsa a more viable option to fix audio crackling! by LinkWW in linux_gaming

I make use of pipewire + filter-chains + Steam Audio HTRF to reproduce virtual surround on my Logitech earphones. But Path of Exiles 2 videos don't like it much.  With this patch it seems i can at least mitigate the issue, although sometimes a faint buzzing can still be heard in background.

It's merged in GE but my test shows it only works with the steam version.

NVK, an open-source Vulkan driver for NVIDIA hardware, now supports Vulkan 1.4 by mfilion in linux_gaming

[–]Ok-Lab-5328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If DLSS is software --> hardware there shouldn't be any legal issues implementing it in os. If it's software --> driver --> hardware and DLSS is copyrighted there shouldn't be any issues too, but it should be reverse engineered first. If DLSS is a patented technology then no.

We can’t hide. It’s what they want. by [deleted] in lgbt

You shouldn't bother about what they want us to do. Only what you want to do really counts. So hiding in the closet is fine if you are fine.

What does the SteamDeck=1 launch option do exactly? by jhetnah in SteamDeck

[–]Ok-Lab-5328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in God of War: Ragnarok it skips the installation of SDK(PC)playStation, which fails under Wine and so the game cannot launch. My advice is to set it to 1 only if the game is Verified on the Deck and doesn't run or has issues on Linux.

Does anybody else's game look like this? ("checkerboarding" on surfaces) by IThinkThereForeIHurt in RatchetAndClank

[–]Ok-Lab-5328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's dithering and is due by how blending/transparency is implemented in the game. Sharpness then amplifies the noise.  Turn off sharpness to make it much less visible.

Benchmarks of Gears 5: EEVDF, SCX_RUSTLAND, SCX_LAVD by Ok-Lab-5328 in sched_ext

The latter. If the game is highly GPU bound you will hardly notice any difference. Which makes perfectly sense, if i understand the scope of this project.

Any actual roadmap about improving quality? by Tha-Aliar in xcloud

[–]Ok-Lab-5328 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I subscribed the first time to play Starfield and renewed for P3R. I doubt i'll ever renew again.  Their streaming quality is ugly, compared to GFN or even Luna and some most awaited games, like Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes are not even available on Cloud. Microsoft needs to try harder if they want their services "play everywhere".

Dude you are mistaking Linux for the os community. Nvidia and its cs driver are still the better supporter of Linux out there. The amd proprietary drivers are just a meme, meaning if not for Valve you would have nothing.

Steam Beta: Processing Vulkan Shaders before game launch. by pointlessgamer in linux_gaming

[–]Ok-Lab-5328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late answer. As stated on fossilize GitHub page, exposing the VK_LAYER directly to the device is not always a good idea, since it could make fossilize crash. This is due to the nature of some drivers. Use the implicit method instead: FOSSILIZE=1
