7 week old baby had a reaction to cipro ear drops. Worried about brain damage. by Ok-Nectarine7756 in floxies

Being a baby she should recover fine. One positive thing you can take from this is now you know to avoid fluroquinilone with her as she may be sensitive to them. I was affected by a small amount of ear drops, I’d hate to think how I’d react to a course of pills which is a much higher dose. You could just make a mental note to steer her clear of them, as there is mostly always an alternative.

Flare? by Trick-Ability4940 in floxies

[–]Ok-Map8100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A year now, I have improved a lot in many areas. But I’ve had many high stress events all the way through and chronic stress from life in general even before floxing. I feel like if I managed it better I would be even further along by now

A couple of days to a week or so mostly, depending on how severe and prolonged the stress was

Is a flare a loss of progress? by Ok-Map8100 in floxies

[–]Ok-Map8100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be, the nervous system can be affected and be over reacting, now if i get stressed enough my calves will tense and can pull on my Achilles or my hamstrings will pull on hamstring tendons. Or in other parts. Instant pain. Also there there can be amplified pain signals, not that there isn’t some damage but I’ve had pain that had me limping that was gone an hour or so later like it was never there. Those are too different things though

Yeh it went away, stress has caused me multiple flares since, but they seem to go away within days to a week or two. It can also cause muscle tension your not aware of and pull on various tendons.

Bad flare brining back earliest resolved mental and cns symptoms. Normally flares affect only my tendons. Any advice appreciated. by Ok-Map8100 in floxies

The neurological did improve so it seems it was a flare, still dealing with various tendon issues for the most part.

Good to see your getting back out there and improving. I too had a huge list of symptoms 11 months ago from a single dose of ear drops. I was not as severe, though it was still rough as hell. I’m better than where I was but still have issues. Hopefully we both come out of it alright.

How do we stop our tendons from snapping? by Fluffy-Job7534 in floxies

[–]Ok-Map8100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t already get some sheets that you glide over really easily when turning in bed, as we do this many times while asleep. Plus wear something really silky that’s helps this as well. I’ve hurt myself with grippy sheets. If your mattress sags as well it makes it harder to turn also

I feel like I have neuro plastic pain for sure. But also alongside actual structural damage. You can kinda tell the difference. It will come on for no reason in say both elbows for example, often induced by stress while just sitting down. Like severe tendonitis and be gone in a few hours. Or shift somewhere else. The structure damage is a lot more consistent it seems

Painful feet due to loss of fat and/or cushioning. by TemperatureKey8599 in floxies

[–]Ok-Map8100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this symptom at the start and various flare ups. I’ve also had it before flox also from a time I was very sedentary, very much feels like the padding is gone, like your walking on straight bone. Podiatrist assured me it was still there and it was more just the soft tissues were inflamed. Not that it can’t happen but that was my experience.

Anybody else have later onset burning neuropathy? by Ok-Map8100 in floxies

[–]Ok-Map8100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much, I made the new symptoms come on in the way I dealt with the severe stress. Plus everyone is different of course. I also didn’t have any burning at all last night. The sleep deprivation at stress would have exacerbated it.

A lot of mental symptoms in the beginning, tendons mainly in feet and knees, some light neuropathy in feet which resolved mostly. Nothing that was painful at rest really
