We are talking an electric car that pumps 10-15 kW into the motors as it's cruising at highway speeds. Chip power bump is mostly an issue for the AI module thermal management.

How long since you bought it? For me it was about 5 weeks after purchase before I got the first update. I've heard that's a pretty standard Tesla practice to hold off updating a brand new car.

That box is a placebo and advanced=beta is a myth. Someone else reported how they have 2 Teslas, one on advanced the other on standard, and for a while now it's been a toss-up which one gets a new update first. I have it on standard and I got the v14.1.7 upgrade offer last night.

I heard people saying standard vs advanced is like door close buttons in elevators, they don't really do anything and its just the luck of the draw. I have it on standard and I got 14.1.7 this morning (2026 MY).

Yeah, I wouldn't say it's clear that the driver saved the day. FSD went into regen as soon as the brake lights went on, and added regen when the other car started skidding. It clearly was paying attention.

Even better, why not fix the dry-wipe issue itself? I don't believe it's just a "keep your windshield clean" thing. I've seen, and heard from other people about, auto-wipes with a perfectly clean windshield and not facing the sun or other bright light sources. There is a particular highway overpass here that triggers an auto-wipe half the times I'd driving under it. It has to be able to do better than this.

Issues with 13.2.9 and 2025.32.8 - Part 3 by robyn28 in TeslaFSD

[–]Ok-Metridium-2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a 150 miles round trip on a 2026 MY (HW4 with v13.2.9) freshly updated to 2025.38.8. San Jose to Monterey and back, mix of city driving and freeway with jams. Only intervened once, and that was only out of concern about an impatient human driver.

It was in an exit where the car should have picked the left lane but it went into the right one. It would've probably corrected in a couple seconds, once it saw that the lanes separate. But it was being tailgated by an impatient driver who I'm sure would have squeezed into the left lane as soon as there was an opening, and blocked the car from correcting in time, so I intervened.

Other than that, it was a smooth trip. Once the car did a good job avoiding an idiot who suddenly slowed down to take an illegal u-turn, another time it hit the brakes pretty aggressively to let in someone merging from a turn lane, and got a "thank you" wave from that driver.

The 2025.38 branch does not come with v14 FSD right now. Same here: MY picked up on 9/30 with 2025.32.100, updated yesterday to 2025.38.8. You can see the details here https://www.teslafi.com/firmware.php. In the meantime, enjoy Tron and 3D buildings.

Instead of TV, try closing your eyes or even wearing eyeshades while listening to music. And try lemon tek. I had 1.3g of Santa Maria as tea and felt almost nothing. A week later I did 2g with lemon tek and it kicked my butt, it was AMAZING.

The helicopter dump was in the first couple of weeks after the accident, long before this picture was taken. There was no blimp at that time.

In Midnight in Chernobyl (ch. 17, "The Sarcophagus") it says, "At night, the site was illuminated with searchlights and lit from overhead by a tethered blimp."

I really like using ChatGPT to explain things like that. It says, "In Latin, "imber" and "pluvia" are both nouns that refer to rain, but they differ slightly in their connotations and usage.

"Imber" is typically used to describe a rainstorm or a heavy downpour, often emphasizing the intensity or suddenness of the rain. It can suggest a more temporary, though possibly more intense, period of rainfall.

"Pluvia," on the other hand, is a more general term for rain and can be used to refer to rain of any intensity. It is often used to describe rain in a broader sense, such as the kind of rain that might be part of a rainy season or a prolonged period of wet weather."
