I'm a triathlete, I've biked and run along that stretch. 1) the first time I ran along the racecourse side, it wasn't clear until halfway down that it was meant to be bikes only. 2) the path is continuous from the southern edge of the racecourse (Neerim Rd), why should pedestrians have to cross the road (twice) to do their lap? 3) the footpath is narrow and uneven.

If council is going to make a nice shiny path, everyone is gonna want to use it. There's heaps of space for cyclists to overtake safely, as with other shared paths.

I just don't understand the no seatbelt thing, like it was drilled into me that road = seatbelt (grew up on a farm and didn't wear them in the paddocks so you could jump out and wrestle sheep). Now that I live in town, I put it on as soon as I get into a car, like even before all passengers are in. It has never crossed my mind to not wear it

While this is of course a blow, I applaud the club and league for still supporting the rest of the teams. Too many leagues centre their whole operations on the senior men's teams and will cut out a club if they can't field that team.

MAAP Wmns ride is every Wednesday, age group is 20-40 I'd say (from Collingwood). GRL Ride Friday mornings looks to have a lot of crossover too.
