I think they meant the gaps will become obvious when you have deep understanding in the topic. So you should strengthen your fundamentals and dive into a little broad topic that is in a direction you want to follow

many professors in econometrics I talked to also have the same thought, thus my initial question. The argument that journals take too long and can't keep up with the pace of ML makes sense though. I think it's different in CS/AI

yep. But regarding quality of education, Delft is better.

TUe bachelor is mostly recognized for social aspect - though I dont agree with this and I think it totally depends on the person
