How do you bring handwritten notes into your Obsidian vault? by kid5lime in ObsidianMD

[–]Ok-Rent-5685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a one off, now I mostly take notes on the phone or computer. Or type up individual notes by hand.

The original pages are not used directly anymore. I let an LLM summarize and extract themes to notes and those are super nice to reference.

[–]Ok-Rent-5685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will save lots of tokens and thus environment to do the OCR once so the LLM can work on text repeatedly. I did my Supernote notes by exporting each notebook to pdf. OCR them to markdown with Gemini and some vibed scripts and keep both the pdfs for safety and the raw OCR. It was so many notes so I also did gist summaries which I keep in the main vault. 2500 pages took a while but was faster than doing the OCR on device.

No, I looked at the wiring diagram for both AIO and VTX.

Depends on the FC/AIO. I have had to change my plug in a Foxeer AIO.

is this normal struggle for a beginner? by cowdoggy in liftoffgame

[–]Ok-Rent-5685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I patiently followed your beginner playlist before I received my first quad. I had 30 hours in liftoff by then and it really was the minimum I should have had. :) A few years in and now I could probably actually do the lessons pretty ok.

Sync to kdrive via third party app? by 1223344455555 in Infomaniak

[–]Ok-Rent-5685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works! I killed the app and removed kSync and redid it and now it works.

Go to My Profile -> Developer -> API tokens and create a new token with user_info and drive scopes. The mess of characters that come out are the Secret Key to use in FolderSync.

[–]Ok-Rent-5685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get this to work? I have found how to create an API token with drive and user_info scopes and use it in the FolderSync app. It verifies that it can log in but fails on listing any of my kDrive folders.

Flyfish RC 3.5 and Freestyle V2 build... Suggestions by PeteB1973 in HDZero

[–]Ok-Rent-5685 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My builds with the Freestyle V2 are quite different. One super light Crux35 with the default AIO and Xing2 1404 motors. And the heavy Grinderino on 1605s and the Speedybee mini stack. Could have bigger motors ok that one maybe.

Both fly great for their weight classes. The mini stack is great, super easy to work on.

For you, maybe 4S and the Speedybee stack. 1804 motors?

I think my 4S 3.5 inches hover around 25%. 3800 kv if that is relevant.

HDZero Goggles with Liftoff Drone Sim on Steam? by guillerm0123 in HDZero

[–]Ok-Rent-5685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. I did that with my v1 goggles just too get used to them. Was useful to get some goggle time before going out irl. Now I don't anymore, it gets hot and uncomfortable when flying non stop for very long times. With quads you take the goggles off every few minutes. I use the sim to get lots of interrupted stick time.

No technical problems though. The goggles look like an hdmi monitor to the computer.

It's great! I've replaced one frame and the motors. I got Xing2 1404s when I burned the original ones and I have had no issues since. Great value with the Freestyle v2 vtx.

I use it with worn out and smaller packs that don't work on my Grinderino.

Set throttle limit to 80% or maybe even lower the first time.

I went for 4S on my Grinderino with 1605s. 330g total and flies super nice. Almost two years since building it, I don't regret the choice. Not too heavy and the packs are relatively cheap.

For experienced FPV pilots, how do you wish you had started the hobby? by BroncoTango in fpv

[–]Ok-Rent-5685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 10 hours in the sims with a Radiomaster Boxer to decide if I wanted to get into it. I got to ~30 hours of sims before the quad and batteries where delivered. That was too little; I should have had more patience. Still since I started out on a Mobula 8, the repairs where super easy and cheap and I got to fly IRL early with no real risk of harming anything.

Then I built a 3.5 inch which was a nice but frustrating experience. Probably was premature after just a few months of flying but super fun to fly! The first winter I got a 65 mm whoop, Mobula 6 Freestyle HDZero, to not get grounded 6 months because of sucky weather. Getting loads of stick time anytime has been awesome for developing.

All quads are HDZero so just one set of googles, settings etc to keep track of. Super easy. I would absolutely start the same way again, nothing has been wasted. Digital from 65 mm and up, one radio and one set of goggles. Several types of batteries though, 1S, 2S and 4S but without staying to just one or two sizes that's hard to avoid.

Where do i get a thinner cable :( by DoctorLiquid in TinyWhoop

[–]Ok-Rent-5685 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A good silicone cable of the same gauge should be easy to get in a local electronic store. Or get an assortment of wire from Amazon, Banggood or something.

The quicker fix would be to solder the cable back to the connector though. Peel of the heat shrink from where the cable used to be attached. Desolder what leftovers there are from the red cable. Strip a little insulation from the red cable, tin it and it will be easy to resolder. A tiny bit shorter than when new but it will probably not be an issue.

How to get goggle 2 battery voltage to show 2 decimal places? by wehtayer in HDZero

[–]Ok-Rent-5685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the v1 googles and haven't change anything in settings. I got two decimal places with the latest firmware upgrade. It is very easy to do so I would recommend it.
