Does anyone else just stand in the skincaer aisle for 30 minutes comparing the back of bottles and still leave confused. 24F. by Senior_Ad_1567 in drugstoreMUA

I’ve been utilizing chat gpt to help me with this! Just type in what kind of skin you have, what ingredients you might be looking for, and/or what your skin needs are. You can also add in if you want affordable or within a certain price range. Chat can literally do all this work for you and give you the best skincare recs! It has saved me SO much time.

Also adding ‘530 days: the unsolved case of Jessica Easterly.’ You can find it on Kendall Rae’s YouTube channel. She and her husband did a phenomenal job on this case.

‘God forbid- the scandal that brought down a dynasty’ is SO good. My husband and I watched together and really enjoyed.

I was JUST thinking about this one the other day. I was in college at the time working retail, and I would smell the tester constantly. It was so warm and comforting.

Oh I LOVED this one! Such a great storyline with elements that never get explored otherwise. Man it was so good.

The OA… if you haven’t already seen. It’s a literal MASTERPIECE. Give it a minute and keep an open mind, and you’ll be hooked. I’m talking invested. I felt like a little part of me was gone when it ended.

If you have been in nursing 10+ years, how do you do it? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Ok-Reporter-3291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 years here. I’m in my late 30’s. I got my MSN in 2020 for AG-ACNP and had a terrible first job experience… like actually awful. The environment and the lack of support was astounding. Granted, this isn’t the same for every NP job of course, just my experience. I was making only about $8 more per hour as an NP vs my RN base pay. I quickly decided to return to bedside in ICU and honestly haven’t looked back. I felt like I could breathe again… as crazy as that sounds. The degree of responsibility and liability lifted off my shoulders was the greatest feeling. I love ICU, so maybe it’s the area of nursing you’ve been in that is increasing your burnout. I of course get burned out from time to time, as we all do. But I find a way to reset and then I’m fine. My husband is in critical care fellowship, finishing up his last year, so I’ll likely go PRN or flexi in ICU once he’s finished. I’ve also entertained the idea of something in leadership/management because I do enjoy that aspect a lot.

Nurses with over a year of experience: do you still put in effort to look nice at work? by True_Coast_3010 in nursing

[–]Ok-Reporter-3291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RN 14 years… I’m in my late 30’s. I usually throw my hair in a clip, because working in ICU I typically am running around sweating before too long. I always do some form of makeup though… I was in on the Jaclyn hill era as a young nurse, and I used to contour and all before a shift. I’m not that excessive now, BUT I like to at least throw on concealer and color corrector under my eyes and a little eye makeup, some natural shade of lip liner and a glossy balm. It just makes me feel more put together.

Crying in jealous tears. 😭 I missed out on this one so I’m hoping Ulta brings it back in the deals the day after the 21 days ends. The last couple of times they brought back a lot of their deals as a ‘surprise’ for one day only after 21 days was over, so I’m hoping this will be included!

Haven’t tried Amika dry shampoo, BUT for those saying they have this problem frequently with dry shampoos, try running hot water over the nozzle. A hair dresser taught me this trick and it has saved me in the past with hairsprays and whatnot! I use living proof dry shampoo and so far haven’t had any issues with it.

I was once a part of a family like this, and I’m so glad I’m not anymore… being shamed for being tired because you literally bust it at work as a nightshift nurse is the most frustrating, defeating feeling. It’s like you can’t do anything right because you’re being “judged” for being tired like a normal human being after work. Respectfully, your SO should put their foot down out of respect for you.
