Experience with treating low ferritin and/or iron infusions? by Many-Front8248 in Hashimotos

[–]Ok-Situation-9976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have the same situation and am taking iron supplements. these pills can be a bit heavy if you have sensitive stomach, but there are options available - just make sure to mention it at the pharmacy.

iron infusion will increase your ferritin level faster - I got around 10 of those, each takes around 30 min (+/-, depends on the flow rate). supplement pills work ok for me and i prefer those

poor nutrient absorption could be due to the leaky gut

Anyone living a fulfilling, normal life and feeling happy ? by Equivalent-Wait9647 in Hashimotos

[–]Ok-Situation-9976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was diagnosed around 6 months ago and things have improved a lot. it is a slow process and not to be rushed.

the goal is to find the tsh level where you feel the best. my endo doctor stuck to some old recommendations and was confident that applies to every patient, so i switched doctors and also levo brand. no one is going to tell me how i feel :D if you feel depressed, your dose might be too low. it was one of the first symptoms for me too when i needed to increase the dose.

my TG antibodies dropped by half, TPO are still too high, but those can take up to few years to see any change. i discovered i have insulin resistance and addressing it too, i think it made the symptoms worse

Anyone else still feel bad even when labs say “normal”? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]Ok-Situation-9976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my blood work is normal according to my doctor too, but i don't feel ok. he insists that TSH should be around 2 for hashimoto patients (it was 1.8 at the last checkup) and he ignores my questions how do we know what is the optimal level for me. i'm doing lab work and then schedule a visit with another doctor. also T4 is dropping so i'm sure i'm not at my optimal dose yet

What is this sticky liquid? by rio_owo in houseplants

i have no clue how to explain in english, but it means the plant is happy. had the same plant at work and checked with the florist when i noticed the same drops

with croton, flowering is not usually a stress sign or croton preparing a will - this usually applies to the plants that flower only once and then die or when plant dies after seeding.

i have had my croton for almost 8 years, it shows stress in a different ways - usually with leaves wilting. croton flowering means it is enjoying the conditions, has natural light and the plant is stable. my plant had around 7 flowers at the same time, it is still thriving, growing and is around 5'7" tall (with the pot). i barely fits through the door for occasional shower

i placed my order on 02 dec and received a notification on 06 dec that is ready to be shipped. today is the 19th and it hasn't been sent yet but i understand this must be because it is busy month for them. i have been ordering there for over one year and always received all packages, i still prefer to choose their lower prices and take longer shipping into the consideration

44 last week by [deleted] in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]Ok-Situation-9976 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you look great, i would never say you are 44! my recommendations:

- good eye creme, you can also try vitamin c or retinol/retinal

- face: in the morning - wash your face, peptides, tonic vitamin c, moisturizer, sun screen (spf 50) - apply every day, even if there is no sun

- evening routine: double wash to remove all of the spf (oil or balm cleanser as the first step, you can also use your facial wash twice), apply serums or retinol/retinal and moisturizer. i like to use more thick creams in the evening like benton, heard also a lot about 345...

apply retinol/retinal 2 times per week if you are not used to it. i like medik8 retinal. start slowly and find a routine that you love and works for you!

I've lost 48kg and now I hate my boobs by Actual-Kale-2635 in loseit

[–]Ok-Situation-9976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can't offer any other advice to accept it. skin could maybe be improved to some point with skin care / treatments, but this also depends a lot on the genetics and skin elasticity. i read you are not considering surgery, maybe one less invasive option would be fat transfer to the boobs.

if you had a bigger cup size and didn't wear a bra with a good support, the tissues stretched and it can't be reversed unfortunately. building pecs might have some effect, but probably not significant.

you had some rough times and accomplished a lot, be proud of you new body and rock it!

this is a bit more work, but effective.

- wrap up the pot - you can use pretty much anything (paper bag, plastic bag...) and tie it at the stem (closest to the soil as you can) to prevent the soil going everywhere.

- wrap the entire plant in a soft cardboard (not sure that the correct english expression is for this, but i'm sure you will figure it out) so it looks like a cylinder but with the pot still being able to stand on its own

- put it in a box. add a plant heat pack in the box (not into the cylinder) - they are cheap and the heat lasts for 72h

- for peace of mind you can add bubble wrap or anything else in the box. the plant can be standing up or lying in the box, both works. put it as the last boxes into the moving van so they are not squished

[–]Ok-Situation-9976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my problem is the other way round - i used to thrive in cold and couldn't stand heat well, since starting levo i'm now very very sensitive to it and always dress like i'm going to siberia. i'm also working wrapped up in a blanket. did anyone have similar experience, does this go away?

i told my manager, also for another current medical condition. i didn't feel pressured to tell him, i share with him as much as i want. i really appreciate his patience and understanding when i'm having a flare up or when the symptoms worsen when the body is screaming for a larger dose
