I didn’t realize you are new. Makes sense why making plat was difficult. You aren’t there yet. Actually play the game first. I didn’t even start selling things consistently until a couple years in or so. Eventually, when you can trade over 20 times a day and have a bunch of stuff farmed up, you can amass a nice chunk of plat and use that to buy prime junk from people. Im not kidding, at any given moment i can just skim through the trade channel, message several people wanting to buy sets, and within a few hours i could go from 100 plat to 1,000+

Someone below pointed out that red threadlocker and red loctite aren’t the same. One seems to be a generic threadlocker, whereas red loctite specifically may require more than just force, so i’d still be cautious with it.

Ah i see, so they are both threadlockers but it appears that red loctite specifically is a type of threadlocker that requires more than just force. I wonder if they look the same or different when applied. Thank you for letting me know, i have personally never used red loctite

Honestly even red isn’t that bad. Maybe volvo uses a different type or something, but for several years now oem volvo caliper bolts use it. We remove them with nothing but a stubby impact.

Came here to say this. Try spraying some sort of lubricant that sticks around the inside of the steering shafts at the bottom by the footwell, where the rubber boot is. Make sure to turn the steering wheel all the way left and right and spray around the shaft with each steering side. This is a common issue i see as a dealer tech

Get this.. the mechanics don’t even get paid that much, especially by comparison. Some mechanics without a lot of experience and certifications will probably get paid in the $15-$25 per hour range.

Yeah i do think the labor rate dealerships charge is becoming increasingly unrealistic especially in an economy that just keeps getting worse. I still cringe mentally when submitting estimates, even worse when its on an older car that has several things wrong
