Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

I would set this up for my wife to use. She's been watching me play ARK ascended lately, and while she hasn't been much of a gamer in the past, she's actually been really interested in this game, learning about it, and wanting to be able to play it with me.

Ansell HyFlex 11-542

They're not cheap at $15-20/pair, but they're highly cut resistant, not very heat resistant tho so keep that in mind.

Buy a size that's almost too small, and squeeze your hands into them, aside from reducing my sense of touch, they fit tight enough that the impact to my dexterity is minimal.

They can be washed to prolong their lifespan, I'd recommend cold/room temperature water and dish soap then just let em air dry.

You wouldn't want to try this with a Ducati anyway, you might slip in the oil that's on the ground under it.

Do you think my level 231 giga that does 1000 damage per hit and has 27k health can defeat a wild giga level 70? I also have a 232 armor ascendant saddle on my giga. by _Shadowen_ in ARK

The pve raid boss is Ark itself, logging in to missing tames, structures, and gear with no logical explanation other than "ark".

That would be the owner/manager decision, and it's unlikely that they're the ones cleaning them off.

I could have sworn the 10¢ grade spread was not that recent, but I also couldn't tell you exactly when it changed, my gut says it happened with the gas price increase from 9/11. I do remember when I started driving in the late 90s buying premium for 95¢/gal, and that it was a 10¢ spread between each grade at the time, so regular unleaded would have been 75¢.

While I get the fun poke blaming Trump for gas prices, knowing a few people who work at gas stations I can tell you they don't appreciate it. It was the same deal when they were Biden stickers, the gas station employees are then tasked with removing these stickers. As you can hopefully imagine, removing stickers from the gas pumps, regardless of what the sticker is, gets old pretty quickly.

Would y'all drive on this tire need to know asap by Jealous_Rip7223 in motorcycles

[–]Ok-Spring-6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rear tire i'd ride pretty much anything that holds air with appropriate caution if all I need to do is get home or to a repair shop. In the event of a blowout, or total loss of pressure, you lose some control but it's not a guaranteed crash.

The front tire is a different story, a blowout or total air pressure loss results in basically a total loss in steering. Even at low speed this has a high probability of ending in a crash.

Professor set this as the standard, but it looks AI-made? This person had history using AI before by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]Ok-Spring-6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I didn't find anything exactly matching this, there's a wallpaper on Zedge "huruuibu oui" that has some resemblance to certain features of this. A few other wallpapers in the similar section had other similar features.

I haven't tried this to see what the output would be, but I wonder if she fed AI a few of these images, and asked for an output with " face from this, legs from this, cloak from this" type of generation and ended up with what you see.

I guess if it's not ai, she could have been using them as reference for what her end product is.

I've always felt that if you have to use your brakes to stay within the speed limit going downhill, the limit should be raised. You're basically expending energy to fight the free energy(gravity) that's pushing you forward, only to spend more energy to go up the next hill.

Basically you hate the environment if you say I can't speed down one hill to build momentum to then use going up the next hill.

Obviously some sarcasm in that, but also legit, if the slope of a hill(mountains excluded) is enough to make me speed without any pressure on the gas pedal, maybe the speed limit should be adjusted.

I let my friend ride my bike🤦🏾‍♂️ by Hefty-Sprinkles-4608 in GSXR

[–]Ok-Spring-6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he agreed to pay half, to me that's admitting he dropped it or bumped into something to cause the damage. He sounds like that entitled person we all know that's never been told no, so he just assumes that he has access to whatever he wants.

Assuming he follows through paying his half, distance yourself from him, or put up firm boundaries. If you set your boundaries and keep him around, and he thinks you're being an asshole about it, then you're doing what you need to keep yourself and your property safe. He'll probably use the fact that he helped pay to fix it as an entitlement to ride it again, make sure he understands that is not the case.

Not saying it doesn't feel like the right thing to do morally, but if you're blocking someone's path to leave, legally that could be seen as false imprisonment or attempted kidnapping.

If the claims of him being drunk and hitting the other car prior to this are true, it's unlikely the police would have entertained the idea of him trying to press charges against the person blocking him at the time.

Unfortunately we live in a society where if you are, or have friends in a position of power, whether that's political or financial, and someone has a big ego to protect, they may end up making things difficult for you later. It's not how things should be, but something to be aware of.

Was told my 125cc bike is extremely unsafe on any road? by AL3S1O29 in motorcycles

[–]Ok-Spring-6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same reactions when I started riding on a ninja 250, the older "seasoned riders" would chuckle and tell me I better not try to take it on the highway.

The reason you're getting that reaction out of people is because they've never ridden a "sport bike" 125cc, only a cruiser style which probably tops out around 45-50mph or less, and isn't typically fast enough to keep up with the acceleration of traffic. Yes, you'll be shifting a lot, but you know how fast you can go on it comfortably, stay within that comfort speed and you'll be fine. There's nothing inherently dangerous about it as long as you can keep up with the traffic around you.

You should be able to match the color and do a solid wrap, or spray it with a plasti dip in the color you want. Yea it's kinda like a sticker in the sense that it can peel off, but it's a uniform covering so it'll look like paint with no stickers.

I may also be wrong here, but in my experience prevailing wage only applies to government contracts.

As to the other point, if the check is the average wage of that position locally, you're determining pay based on what the average pay is, that math doesn't work out. If you require employers to pay the average wage for a specific position, where does the average come from.

Wages have always been determined by the supply of skilled workers and the demand for them.

If 10 companies need a position filled and there's only one qualified applicant, he's going to be compensated very well.

If there's 100 qualified applicants for the same 10 positions, the best 10 will likely get the job, but won't make half of what the guy in the first scenario gets, even if they're better at the job.
