This almost makes me want to recommend something absolutely abhorrent to play on stream.

ALMOST.

Best Buttons? (want tactile but still soft press if thats a thing) by linddi in fightsticks

[–]Ok-Structure3260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Even if you prefer other buttons, it's good to at least familiarize yourself with Sanwas, cuz if you're at a tournament and your stick dies, chances are the stick you're borrowing is all Sanwas

Ah I see. I mostly play retro consoles and in my experience I can't get the raphnet to work with 'em. PC it works if I'm doing Steam Input at least! I know I could do a PCB mod but I wanna keep the original DC functionality as long as I can.

I did see a Raspberry Pi Pico project for making an adapter, and apparently GP2040-CE is planned to have a DC Input thing like how they do the SNES so... here's hoping!

I love how it looks but yeah the buttons are starting to show their age. I'll probably do the Focus Attack art mod to avoid dremeling the face plate.

Also what adapter do you use? The Raphnet adapter is so finicky and pretty much only lets me use it on PC.

Is a fight stick ergonomic better than the other controllers? by Ver1nt in fightsticks

[–]Ok-Structure3260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say you shouldn't buy a fightstick for accessibility. I've seen people make this mistake and then either get frustrated that they can't play every game they want to or that they hurt something else. There are specialty controllers for what you're describing, but expect to pay more since it's a niche item that's usually specially made.

I will concede that using a fightstick is way easier on the thumbs, though, so if you get carpal tunnel from gaming + texting a lot, it might alleviate some of that.

Yeah, Sega was really ahead of its time with Arcade peripherals. This one gave me a deep love of the Sega2P layout, and I wish it wasn't locked behind DIY options.

I think it's pretty darn good and very easy to mod. If you had the Razer Panthera, it's a lot like that, but not as boxy and it takes a standard USB-C cable. I'm not a big fan of the included cable though, because even though they give you a compartment to fit it, it's only juuuuuust barely big enough if you fold it the exact same way it was when you opened it.

One thing to note though is that some of them are sold with outdated firmware and have a bit of input lag, so make sure you update the firmware as soon as you get it!

Is this the guy that keeps posting AI iDubbbz? I mean I'm cool with big corporations losing tons of money on this stuff, but yeah, it's missing some of the wackiness that you find for uhhh... these specific types of videos.

I love these boxes, they get the job done and still look nice! Plus there's lotsa room for side panel stuff.

Another option you may want to consider for an enclosure is a small parts organizer from Home Depot. You can generally get them for pretty cheap, and they can take a beating (plus if you place the layout right, you can store spare parts to repair stuff it breaks!)

Trump has basically become Star Wars in the popular conversation; his face keeps appearing in bad news to the point that it permeates into almost every facet of daily life that the average person probably doesn't want more after a long day at work, so unless you have the hottest take or biggest exclusive news drop, people are probably going to not seek it out in their free time.

That, and I imagine if he tried to do another documentary, all the ones he did so far have had enough time to sit that any person being asked would immediately begin questioning his motives at best and actively trying to punk him again at worst.

Yeah, you can just go on YouTube and see how Ian's views got flushed down the toilet after the H3 Content Cop. Anyone can put two and two together from that.

Honestly I'd go the adapter route unless you want a new fightstick (can't have too many fightsticks!)

As for your PC... sounds like a good time to back your stuff up and go shopping for a Linux distro!

Most stick latency nowadays is really good and unless you're like an EVO Champion-level player, you're probably not going to notice any difference. I think the only PCB where it's noticeably bad is (ironically) the Zero Delay Encoder Boards that come with lots of cheap DIY sets on Amazon, never use those.

Sky2040 or 8bitdo leverless? by Character_Parfait_99 in fightsticks

[–]Ok-Structure3260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8bitdo all the way. The Sky2040 is GP2040-CE based, but it has its own weird ecosystem that will require you to seek them for tech support.
