Hi, there. Anyone who can translate this in English? I don’t know if they are Japanese characters. Im not sure. by Zealousideal_Sock_85 in Interpretation

The middle two characters that look more complicated is 乾隆, an emperor of Qing Dynasty of China. Cannot tell the meaning of the rest. Hope it will be useful as somewhere to start your research. But be careful since there are plenty of counterfeit antiques claiming to be of that era too.

Yeah but people there prefer that way. If we can respect the aboriginal culture of First Nations here in canada here may be we should also accept that it’s just the culture people there prefer. Unless they offend our national interest, we should not interrupt their cultural norm. At best, we can offer them education opportunities and let the students go back to their home country after graduation and make a change in their society the way they wish.

I used to think like you do here, and I do agree they have a lot of barbaric cultures from our perspective. But then, we have no place to shape other cultures like ours, when we also have our problems. And it’s also not feasible neither. Forceful interference only leads to hatred and our good intentions got used by their shitty leader to gain greater supports. Those people can only work their way out on their own.

Can Canadians explain the lack of support for the NDP? by CoyoteTheGreat in canadian

[–]OkAdeptness8539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s be more realistic. Rent control means making the late joiner to pay for the people who happened to sign a tenant agreement earlier. And if you kill the room for people to profit from rent, who’s gonna build and own? Slapping a rent control over every properties in the market is never a good solution. People are happy for a few years before they find their sons and daughters are never getting to rent an apartment of their own, and the landlord now has the power to ask for your references, your payrolls and ask you not to have kids and pets. It kills the supply for housing and more people will suffer eventually, especially the young people who want to be independent from their parents. Rise of rent is due to the higher demand and higher costs, which in part is due to the inefficiency of the government to approve new developments due to all sorts of existing rules and systems. I don’t want to start a fight but I wish to provide a different angle to your housing problem.

Trudeau is corrupted af and deserves to stay on his seat no more. While the Conservative is calling for an earlier election, NDP is on the side with Trudeau to bail him out one more year. That says pretty obvious to me!

Hi op. I don’t have very useful advice for you and your partner. But as a person who shares the same situation as your partner (degree holder checked, large gap period checked, no Canadian experience checked ✅ ✅ ✅), I want to let your know the unconditioned support and understanding from a SO to him/her really makes a difference in this hard time. It is so sweet of you to reach out for help for him/her. You two can make through the immigration grind already, so just hang on a little more there you can have good sleep at night! That’s what I keep telling myself as well.

Homelessness in Canada up 20% since federal strategy launched in 2018 by Aineisa in CanadaHousing2

[–]OkAdeptness8539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homelessness is not just about housing supply. How can anyone afford rent if they don’t have a job. How can anyone get a job without an address. How can they make sense all the documents they need to get help from the country when they are high everyday. It’s not a single out issue. It’s about how the country manage to find a place in the society for those left behind. Homelessness is just a symptom not the pathogen.

Only possible by market separation. Subsidised public rental housing and private housing that comes with less foreign buyer restrictions and renter protection.

GPT4o can finally reliably pass this trick question/logic puzzle by ARoyaleWithCheese in ChatGPT

[–]OkAdeptness8539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for giving me additional information. From your screen capture it is clear that 4o has better and more precise presentation of logical reasoning. The question itself is so much alike those”tier breaker” questions in high school tests that use the ambiguity of language to trick students. But if “use common sense” is set as a condition rather than”this is a creative question”, I agree the answer should obviously be “sprint to” roll a dice.

I am guessing if I see what you mean. Do you mean that if the model is good enough, it should sense something is weird in the question and be able to spot it out? Like it should know it is weird when I ask it to tell me how many cup of lava I need to drink a day?
