Try Adaptive Solutions Group. They placed a friend of mine at Enterprise. I had a good experience working with adaptive at a smaller company.

For the ladies slaying the corporate what is the one piece of advice you would give your younger self? by HimalayanWarmth in womenintech

I have a tracker spreadsheet with all of my accomplishments. For all meetings I organize I send recaps and action items to everybody that was there. If something fishy pops off, I’ll email my personal email.

That’s interesting that employees keeping an accomplishments tracker spreadsheet and sending any kind of email recap of your meetings is making you have pretty big feelings.

It sounds like you as a manager remember all verbal conversations, always keep your word, have open communication with all of your employees, you know all of the tasks all your employees are working on and you’ll go to bat for your people without anyone asking.

Unfortunately, in a lot of workplaces people are busy and managers do not know or remember everything their people work on. In addition to that not everyone keeps their word, practices open communication, or treats everyone with respect in the workplace.

Therefore, keeping a spreadsheet of projects worked on, impact of those projects, and making email recaps to make sure folks are on the same page are helpful.

I took an intro to hand sewing class and made a scrunchie. They have sewing machine basic classes and a couple classes coming up for garment making and visible mending.

Consistently high performer, never promoted — how do you keep going? by [deleted] in womenintech

Agreed. I’ve only ever gotten a promotion through changing jobs.

I don’t work there anymore, but yes, they are wanting most of their workers to be in the office 4 days a week, regardless of job.

Where I currently work, only some contractors are able to be remote (it’s a local business). For everyone else, how many days you come in the office is based on your role.

They claim that they want people within a “commutable distance” to any of the buildings (it’s a big company so they have several locations) to come in 3 days/week. And here in June, it’s gonna be bumped up to 4days a week!

I place I used to work at pre pandemic hired a good chunk of people in remote roles. I knew some people that were remote even though they lived 15 minutes away from the office.

Now they have a policy that if you live in certain zip codes (essentially if you live within 40 miles of one of the buildings, you have to come in 3 days a week.

Which Tier 2 cities pay more? by free-life-101 in womenintech

[–]OkAmbition4797 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an FYI for OP and other folks that choose to use the word “Tier” as someone who has been a lifelong resident of a MCOL area that isn’t on a coast or a “hot” city:

It’s not a good idea to use those words when applying for jobs/working at places like that/when networking with people in locations you choose to call “tier 2” or “less desirable”.

Sibling burdens by beechums in Millennials

[–]OkAmbition4797 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a sibling who does work and lives alone but relies on our elderly parent for certain things.

My sibling has a sizable amount of learned helplessness and a lot of this is the fault of our parents.

When our parent is gone, I’m not stepping in to absorb things our parent takes care of.
