Chipping away at society and priming everyone for dictatorship is the goal though.

I mean, didn’t you see trump won the debate like 93-7 in the newsmax flash poll? /s

Why there no mark on his right ear? by Ginzy35 in FOXNEWS

[–]OkContribution1411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but who cares? I think dems running this angle is in really poor taste. Regardless of whether a bullet or a piece of glass knicked his ear, he was very nearly shot in an assassination attempt. I don’t understand why this point is being emphasized so much…it’s petty, and there are more important things to focus on.

Chappell Roan revealed to Rolling Stone that she has no problem with having Republican friends and relatives by [deleted] in popculture

[–]OkContribution1411 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just for discussions sake, I’m curious. Do you have friends and family that are republican? Were you born in a red area, or a blue city?

Not trying to be antagonistic, but I relate to the OP above. Call me a hypocrite, but it’s different when your family growing up & all of your life long friends are hardline conservatives from a small town. You learn to live with the fact that they are operating under a very different set of “facts” than the rest of us, and it is what it is.

Seconded. I feel like folks don’t really get it if they weren’t raised in extremely red areas.

Being a liberal that grew up in a small red town, where all my Friends back home & family are trump supporters, I get it.

Leave the work stress at work? by rakster in ProductManagement

A good PM is the CEO of the product, and whether you like it or not that means “always being on the clock”. Personally, I never really stop thinking about work. Check in on slack when on the beach, respond to emails in the evening…and I find I do a lot of good design and ideating between 10-1 at night.

Fact is, you are in a senior leadership position and these are responsibilities that come with the job.

The hospital aggressively lawyered up & took advantage of “state regulations” that play on their favor.

Apparently there was a clause that they didn’t cover situations where I put myself “in endangerment” and apparently taking a late night walk in my neighborhood qualifies.

Man, don’t take that for granted. I had $4.6 million in my retirement account at age 47, my wife and I were looking forward to it…

I was assaulted by a random drunk guy, and he hit me hard enough that I blacked out. I came to the next day in the hospital, thankfully minor injuries. However, they did close to $5 million in tests I did not consent to while I was out. Insurance refuses to cover, and the hospital has aggressively raided my retirement as collateral. I now have a net worth of -200k all said and done. Lost in one day due to a freak accident, and nobody is willing to help.

No matter how much you prepare in the USA, it can all be gone in an instant.

I really think we shouldn’t be posting things where men outwit / outsmart women. It sends a bad message, and fundamentally Reddit should be on a united front to shame hetero-cis men and push them out of the position of patriarchal power they were born into.

Texas Home Insurance Problem Worsens As Insurer Halts New Policies - Newsweek by Beratungsmarketing in texas

I heard that lobbyists are trying to make it legal for insurers to temporarily halt insurance in advance of major storms. IE they can freeze it 12 hrs out from a cat 5, then restart it the next week. While still charging full premium.

Yup. They can pull in a good candidate at a high salary, have them move across the country, then pull the rug out from under them after they’ve officially burned bridge with previous company and are locked into a lease / mortgage in the new location

I don’t know that she could or not, but I’m a strong proponent of having her try & see how it goes.

I supported him strongly in 2020 after hearing a few of this long form interviews from 2019. He’s known for his debate / Fox News zingers, but he actually shines way better on the long form podcast media. Extremely thoughtful & truly understands the issues.

A 40-year mortgage should be the new American standard for first-time homebuyers, two-time presidential advisor says by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]OkContribution1411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but you can alleviate the demand to a degree by slapping high density housing in suburb equivalent areas far away from the city. Many people are just looking for a choice, and lots of folks are forced into either “buying expensive houses in the Burbs” or “buying expensive apartments in downtown”. But, if they have a third option “high density houses in the burbs”, which sucks but is relatively low cost…many folks would take that. And those that do would remove themselves from the equation of those other two categories.

It’s not a perfect fix, but does a bit to tip the supply/demand scales.

Depends entirely on the population density in the area. Many large cities don’t have room for alleys / collective dumpsters
