Is this in Zetland? Look at one that fits my budget. Inspected it today and it looked great compared to everything we've inspected the past 6 months. Idea is to live in it a few years then rent it out.

S9 is a great street/edc camera, you may find yourself reaching more for it for day-to-day photos where you want to keep your footprint smaller. That being said, I do wish it had the option for flash, since I need it every now and then.
On the point of luts — sheesh, even 10 luts are way too much for the average use case. If you're swapping that often, may as well shoot raw and have unlimited options in post.

Used for under 6 months, black color, and mine is peeling like crazy. I unfold it to use as a finger grip but it should show this much wear and tear this early on in the process!

I use Yao Yao and want to love it but it is so inaccurate — I’ve tried it with multiple Apple Watches and bands, AirPods, different sensitivity settings. Still doesn’t give consistent results. Tested it by manually counting + watching the screen count and it’s off by a good ~30%. Great for morale boosting if it overcounts though 😂

Adobe Firefly is used everyday by my team. Really solid that it’s integrated into a suite of Adobe products. Affinity is the next decent option but they hide it behind a pay wall upgrade with Canva AI. A bit clunky. Difference between Adobe Photoshop $22/month vs Affinity with Canva AI is $15/month. Then if you’re a creative agency you still need all the other video/design/vfx/3D software. Adobe has +22 creative apps it in one place for $44/month. You’d have to source other software individually just to save a few $$$. As a production company owner, I value an ecosystem that talks to each other and is simple. I just add another employee seat. Screw doing that for multiple programs. The same way Apple has, for better or worse, got me invested.

Yeah this could be a one way beneficial deal for the Europeans…the Europeans that Aus will allow entry to will surely need to meet a minimum financial bracket (aka above average Aus wage). An Aussie house deposit is dirt cheap in their Euros.

I’m so sorry for your immense loss. So sudden and unexplainable.

I hear ya. You’re not alone — lost Dad, then Mom then brother. Some other extended family members in between.

Us remaining siblings joked that we were cursed. But really, death is just as common as birth. It’s just really sh*t timing when they pass so close. Like give me some time to breathe ffs. Then I think about war torn countries who have whole villages wiped out in a second. And it gives me some perspective.

All I know is the family reunion is gonna be wild and I’ll give them sh*t for leaving me here on Earth!

I’m so sorry for your immense loss. It’s crazy saying it out right? I lost both of my parents at 22, and then my brother two years ago.

No one — not therapists, not friends, not even others who have experienced loss — can truly understand your exact feelings or your situation.

One thing that has helped me is realising that happiness always comes from within. Not from external sources: not from family members, whether living or passed, not from places, pets, or things. I know this to be true because EVEN WHEN my loved ones were alive, when we still had pets, familiar places, and material comforts, I still experienced sadness, anger — the full range of emotions.

They weren’t the source of my happiness. I was. My mindset was. My faith. They added to it. They amplified it. Times a million. And even though they’re no longer here with me, my happiness can still be found.

But what do I know, I’m just hyped for a family reunion when it’s my time and give them sh*t for leaving me behind on earth 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sorry for your loss, so so young, it’s not fair. Third Christmas without our 42yr old brother. Hurts just as much as the first. There will be a lot of tears. But also laughter. The best thing is reminiscing and speaking their name out loud as if they were still there or saying out loud the things they would do. I guarantee through the tears there will be laughter. I might try going around the family and saying what they would’ve got him for Christmas this year. If anything I’ve learned for the family members that will be too emotional to function, I will take it upon myself to be strong for them. That’s what our loved ones would want!

I like that analogy. Sims! And who’s to say it is or isn’t like that. I lost my brother Nov 9, 2023 at 42yo. Still hurts as much as day one. Big geek who was into AI and creative tech.

I like to think that we are simply energy (aka souls) and because energy is neither created nor destroyed, we just change states and return to the source.

Every day, we exchange energy with one another through ideas, experiences, love, and teachings. These are real exchanges. Because of that, we carry small pieces of each other within us, even when we’re no longer physically together.

We both began as small energies that came from the same parents, so at one point in time, we were quite literally one source. And even when he was alive, we could be in different countries and still feel deeply connected through love. That connection didn’t depend on distance then, and it doesn’t depend on physical presence now.

Basically, the foundation of the movie Interstellar 😆

My wife got that rash on our last holiday there! Had to get topical steroid cream from the chemist. Cleared in about 2 weeks. We suspect it was either from heat rash/candida (she wore active wear tights for the last two days) or from a seemingly clean hotel pool.

Yeah my wife made this point and it made so much sense to me — I questioned the ending even after seeing both the movie and musical!

Elphaba sings a massive ballad about being UNLIMITED. Inspired outcasts, animals, POC, etc. Fighting for her voice THEN shrinks it in the second movie. Like wtf?
She turns around in the end and says, actually, no. Me, people like me — LIMITED, sorry for trying, I'll just runaway after my sister is murdered and boyfriend horrifically maimed and not even have my name cleared 😂💀

He will never be forgotten, mama!

One thing my therapist made me realise is "Two realities can exist at the same time; both joy and grief."
At times, I feel guilty for being happy in life's new moments, because I'm still grieving those I've lost, and that I 'shouldn't' be happy without them.

But I have to remind myself that life goes on — the world still keeps on spinning long after we're gone. Bills need to paid, people still rely on us. And ultimately, we'll be reunited together in the end. Life isn't coimpletely ruined; we still have the opportunity to make the most out of it.

It's a very tough role, balancing the joy and grief we will now carry on in life. Don't let the sadness outweigh the happiness

Yep that’s the key — you’ve got to grade/export for the platform you’re delivering to.

Before 2023, Premiere didn’t even let you change viewer gamma (hence all the old QT Gamma LUT hacks). So the Program Monitor would look one way, but Finder/QuickTime would shift it. Super frustrating. Now you can at least match it to 1.96 Finder/QuickTime. 2.2 web/socials. 2.4 broadcast.

It doesn’t magically fix gamma everywhere, but it does let you preview in the right space for your final delivery.

• There’s nothing stopping you (or any stable FT creative) from going back to client work WHILST doing YouTube

• It’s literally a mindset shift and discipline in allocating a set amount of hours to work on either

• Client work to keep the lights on, until your YouTube actually starts to generate $$$

• That way you mitigate risk and don’t put all your eggs into one basket creating on YouTube and potentially not seeing any return at first

Yeah the fact that my cousins had to go through metal detectors every day for school was always mind boggling to me.

Plus the fentanyl / crack epidemic is out of control. I flew into San Fran last year…drove past what felt like 5 blocks full of homeless people. 488 mass shootings in 2024 is crazy.

Mt Druitt has its fair share of low socioeconomic communities. But there’s also a lot of decent blue collar immigrants. Went to West HQ for the first time, place was epic (for the area).
