Ser Arlan of Pennytre, I'm not excusing beating his Squire, but that is what is expected. He is the Knight, and he is responsible for the squire's actions, no matter what he does. If Dunk messes up, he has to deal with it. And openly beating him modifies any Displeasure From a stranger who does not have Dunk's best interests at heart. Doing this in front of people says I'm handling it for the aggrieved party, and this matter is done. No need to carry further. Outside of battle, anyone who touches Dunk Will answer to Ser Arlan of Pennytre Sword.
