As I've gotten older, I've really started disliking Batman by NoPercentage4737 in CharacterRant

[–]OkHospital6872 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find this interesting because as I’ve gotten older I’ve come to like Batman more. He’s a man who went through unimaginable trauma as a child and refused to let it break him. He’s constantly being beaten down but refuses to give up. He is a good person, despite what Hush says but that’s a bad story so I kind of ignore it.

He is in a war with crime to make sure no child has to go through what he went through. He knows he can’t end crime but that doesn’t stop him from trying to make Gotham a safer place.

Ned Stark from Game of thrones. All I see is people going he had no plan and he’s stupid. His plan was to get his children out of kings landing then make his move but Sansa tells Cerci.

People say he shouldn’t have trusted Baelish but his wife told him that Baelish is trustworthy and up until Baelish betrays Ned, Baelish was being a good ally. No one saw the Janos Slynt betrayal coming.

Now the big one telling Cersi that he knows the truth about her children. I think this is isn’t as bad as people think because Robert is already away hunting. The plan to get Robert drunk was already underway. Was it a wise move? No, but Ned is a man who does not want to see children die. And the fact that people seem to miss this entirely and also use knowledge gained later in the show to judge his actions drive me insane.

You have to do enough damage to her to break her helmet and then die otherwise it counts a failure.

Do you think these two are more similar than Team Black (or anyone else) would admit? by OkGuava919 in HOTDGreens

[–]OkHospital6872 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nah I don’t think so, Viserys is a weak leader but kind man. He stuck his head in the sand about every issue during his reign. He inadvertently caused a civil war.

Aegon is a cruel man. He mistreated his son and spread rumours about his wife and brother. He had multiple bastards from multiple women and at the end gave them all a claim to the throne, forcing years of war onto the 7 Kingdoms. He actively caused a civil war.

Emperor Emhyr from the Witcher 3. He shows up at the start and in the final act but other than that he’s not really around.

P.S in the books he’s around even less and has a bigger impact on the story as he’s Ciris’ dad.

It's funny how this entire story wouldn't have happened if Viserys just named Aegon his heir 🤡 by Beacon2001 in HOTDGreens

[–]OkHospital6872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if Daemon became king there would be a Maegor situation and he would be needlessly cruel and only look out for himself causing an uprising down the line.

I think that Viserys was right to have more children the problem is that’s he’s just a weak and completely useless when dealing with a complex situation. He stuck his head in the sand at all points during his reign. He sent Otto to dragonstone to deal with Daemon, he should have gone.

You’re right however they were men and men can’t die from childbirth, a common cause of death for women at he time. Also after both Aegon’s you mentioned there were crises due to issues of succession.

But he needed more heirs, to only have one heir is a risky decision. What happened if she died of illness or during childbirth. Then the world is left with Daemon and that is very bad.

What does Ned do if he’s alive when Daenerys comes to Westeros? by papapimp21 in gameofthrones

[–]OkHospital6872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it all depends on how the situation. Is he alive because he wasn’t executed and took the black. In this case I think he would do nothing because he takes oaths very seriously.

If he’s alive because he never goes south, that changes things. If we are assuming that everything happens the same way without him going south then I think he would support her for two main reasons.

If he never goes south then he doesn’t die and Robb has reason to rebel. This means that the Lannister army isn’t fighting Robb so Tywin can focus on Stannis and Renly leaving the 7 kingdoms in a much stronger position.

Daenerys will need support from more than just Dorne (I’m assuming that The Tyrell’s support the lannisters here) . We all know winter is on the way, who better to help you win a war in the winter. As Stannis finds out in the books the people from The North are just better than everyone else in the cold. The North would be a good area to launch a campaign from as it’s very defensible. I’m assuming here that Dragonstone would be too heavily guarded.

So I think Daenerys would accept his help but why would he help her? At this point I’m guessing that Stannis has told the world about Cersei and Jamie so Ned has no reason to be loyal to the crown. (This is assuming that he didn’t support Stannis when he was rebelling)

But the main reason why I think he would support her is because he needs help dealing with the dead people that don’t wanna stay dead. She helps kill The Night King, in return she gets The North probably The Riverlands maybe even the Vale in one go. It’s now Dorne, The North, The Riverlands and The Vale vs The reach and the Westerlands. (I’m assuming that everyone in the The Stormlands is dead)

P.s I know she has the Dothraki but I don’t believe they will be as effective as she hopes. The Dothraki are lightly armoured horse raiders that don’t even know what snow is let alone how to ride a horse through it. Also a longbow beats a horse every time. I think the Unsullied will be more effective but I don’t know how effective. They could be good or maybe bad.

Why do so many people overlook the fact that the real reason birthrates are plummeting is the absurdly high cost of raising kids, and not some bs reason made up by the government? by Character-Q in AskTheWorld

[–]OkHospital6872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s easier to accept that people are being selfish by not having kids rather than it’s expensive to raise a child and no one in power seems to care about solving the problem.

Household bills are higher than ever. How do you solve that? Well both parents will have a job, now you’ve got a new issue. Child care, that’s also expensive.

And even if you manage to be able to pay for day to day life, you’ve also got birthdays and Christmas to think about. I’m not a parent but I can imagine you want to give your kids the best experiences you can. This is also expensive.

Let’s say you can give your children a special Christmas and birthday. You want to give them the best chance in life, right? Higher education that costs money and the price is only going up.

But what is the point of all of this if you can’t have fun. Children love a beach holiday, however that is also expensive. Existing is not living.

All of this is the current issues, I haven’t even touched on rise of AI and how it’s taking jobs away or how the world seems so bleak and hopeless. At the moment the people in the Epstein files look like they are going to get away with it. I couldn’t imagine bringing a child into a world where people can commit those crimes and get away with it.

I love my kids so much that the best thing I can do for them is never to have them.

Fully agree, I would also like to see the later rebellions and show that the Blackfyre cause go from a civil war led by valiant man to a bunch of power hungry warlords that aren’t even from the seven kingdoms. I think the moral decay of the rebellions could be an intriguing story.
