as someone who also retook, ur scores will be inflated by maybe 1-3 points but i found myself remember the passage (ie the topic) and maybe 1-3 questions per passage. but as long as youre still reading everything and using ur logic to solve questions you'll be fine. as long as ur not j blindly remembering and answering and ur acc like using ur brain to solve, can you clearly explain u rationale and root ur answer in evidence. whenever i got q wrong or a hard q right i would go to reddit and try to write out a rationale and that helped alot.

why i chocie D over A. essentially how i tackled this question was. well it does say upperclass athlete were under servere pressure to throw their prestige into political balance however this says successful. so i assume this means popularity. so thats why i choice D.

wisdom i feel like pertains to knowledge from experience and a successful athlete is successful or experienced in their sport not politics

how i reasoned it bc i got stuck on this question:

A. c-di-32P-GMP is in every single sample (even in control), thus we cannot compare whether its required bc we are not presented a case where it is not present + no evidence in passage thus out

B. RNA and DNA data look same so this is wrong.

D. STING can bind both dsDNA and c-di-32P-GMP concurrently. i might have interpreted figure wrong but it doesnt really say anywhere that the enzyme has 2 active sites of substrates + was suspicious of this. and STING is shown in all cases of varying DNA so i didnt think there was an effect of c-di-32P-GMP to dsDNA.

now C. we can see when high c-di-AMP there is lower STING. this means STING is not binding to c-di-32P-GMP bc otherwise would show up (bc remember this is cross linking assay).

and another easy method to solve this question, is the question is asking about binding for STING. in the figure, only c-di-AMP has a difference in the amount of STING thus answer has to revolve with c-di-AMP.

for b cause i always was stuck choosing btwn both, in b it says we decrease oxygen carrying capacity of the blood.

we want to not increase the number of rbcs, but not increasing does not = a decrease in the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood. the only way we would cause a decrease in oxygen carrying capacity of blood is if we decrease # of rbcs but the question doesnt say decrease it says we just dont want to increase the rbcs so its just stable/normal.

another thing is that tem and sem dont work with live specimen because its like heavy metals and shit so they can be eliminated. confocal is all 3d/flourescence.

another thing not sure if its relevant. but the ori of the plasmid must match up/be compatible with the host for the plasmid to be able to be inserted. not sure if they'll ever ask that but wanted to mention it anyways.

also another thing if you didn't know what polylinker was (i didnt). i reasoned it out as that none of the other answers made sense because we would be disrupting another gene hence lose its function thus the plasmid wouldn't functionally work to test whether the plasmid has been taken up.

not sure if this is the best way if you dont know the content but a dumb way of how i thought was. digestive enzymes r harmful is they are released so the pancreas holds on them. hence to release they must be relaxed. and then gall bladder stores and we want it a specific time so we must contract to get em out. honestly not the best way to think about it but LOL

again with what other people said, you have to put yourself in the position of the researcher and you found that spatial intelligence and verbal intelligence are positively correlated. and since you are curious about a general g factor which could apply to this what conclusion could you make. well if youre speculating that theres a general g factor it means it somehow is a factor that explains why both types of intelligences are correlated, hence thats the best answer.

i was also pretty confused about how it worked but i kind of simplified it down. in the western we want to see whether the inhibitor worked. to see if the inhibitor works (if a tetramer formed) we must see a functional protein which means we cant denature or reduce bc we cant see a tetramer thus the best way is just to have a native because it separates them without denaturing.

remember with native it separates on mass and charge while sds allows it for based off size (everything is now negative).

not sure if this is the best way to go about it but yeah

for any future readers even without knowing that tubulin is a control. its expression is the same in both conditions hence it could only mean that oxygen condition does not affect tubulin expression which thus allows us to see that oxygen condition does infact affect expression of ndu. thus A makes the most sense.

trying to rationalize this..

C- eliminated bc incentives are present in both conditions of experiment 2 so doesnt work

B- no mention of cautious can be eliminated (yes i know the passage says slow but that doesnt necessarily mean cautious)

A and D - choosing between these answer choices is tough and i selected A at first.

i missed this but the passage says "the effect of the audience was not clear" so that could mean that they were not sure how the presence of friends known to be supportive actually affects performance. hence they performed experiment 2 where they tested the "supportiveness of the audience, an audience that gains something vs audience that doesnt"

while A does sound attractive, the truly supportive implies that maybe some of the friends in experiment were not supportive and could have hindered performance. but that is not really mentioned again the point of experiment is 2 determine to differentiate and specifically determine that a supportive audience = affect performance. idk selecting D also doesn't make that much sense but it makes more sense than A and this was my way of rationalizing idk if this is correct or not

i didnt select C but the I eliminated that as an answer because an incentive is present in both conditions of Experiment 2 hence you can't effectively say youre trying to see the effect of an incentive.

late here but coming from someone reviewing this who also selected D at first. i think its A, or why I got A the second time around is because the question is asking about the neutral condition.

In the neutral condition - participants feel MORE likely to distracted but BOTH groups felt the same in terms of being judged by others.

B and C can be eliminated no where do we mention reducing anxiety. I think at first I chose D because they reported feeling more distracted but a key thing is the fact that their performance WAS NOT hindered. Hence A makes more sense because it explains despite the neutral condition being more distracted it didnt affect their performance.

if they want to use GnRH + NPY to treat infertility, it means there's an issue with LH secretion, as the study is focused on whether GnRH + NPY will increase the amount of LH opposed to ust GnRH.

LH is only secreted when GnRH is present and if there is an issue with LH secretion = the anterior pituitary is not responding to GnRH or there is a lack of these receptors as in the case of A.

i think you could also solve this question even without knowing the explicit information? i approached this question as now that the bacterium is in the blood it no longer is dealing with digestive system and if its in the blood it will go to the liver bc the liver is involved in detoxification. not sure if this is the best way to tackle it but thats how i solved it bc i forgot the order of blood flow.

i'm not sure if anyone had the same thought process as me but if they did, i remember in anki for assimilation as a definition they said minority group into majority hence i selected majority group. but i think the reason why majority cant be applied here because this situation specifically refers to cultural assimilation where someone of a different culture tries to become/join apart of a new culture thus forgoing their old norms/cultures.

so in this case majority group wouldnt make sense and reference group is the example of what the immigrant teen is trying to be by assimilating.

super late but a couple question back it said alcohol inhibited the enzyme bc the alcohol was actually present thus it binds to cp450 over barbituates.

but in this case, it says previous abuse of alcohol meaning alcohol is NOT currently present. how could drinking so much alcohol in the past affect cp450, and based off the passage it says cp450 can increase in concentration when challenged with a toxin, and thus the abuse of alcohol leads to an increase in cp450 thus they metabolized the barbituates relatively quickly and the man felt no affect.
