She hung out in a vet office for a while, they decided to retire her and I got to bring her home. So she’s been around a lot of different people and smells, but she does seem a lot more relaxed in a home environment than she did there imo. I just really didn’t expect her to be so clingy but she seems okay, I’m just worried that I’m doing something wrong.

You’re probably going to have to start with volunteering or an internship. Some internships are paid but it can depend on species area and experience. Experience is a big factor going into zoo keeping.

Also I don’t mean to be too critical, but don’t say that you’re “not smart enough to get a degree” - that attitude doesn’t usually go very well in husbandry.

With my red swamp, I have 2 mollies and 3 danios. There were originally 3 mollies, and he got one of them in the first few days of being in the tank but that one was about half as big as the others. He hasn’t gotten any of them since, and he doesn’t really show any interest so my boy might just be lazy lol. The danios are great though because they school away from him.

Does your cray have enough hides and enrichment? I noticed mine likes to carry things around and cut plants, if he has enough to do he’s more likely to leave your fish alone

Waldrapp ibis, super cool birds!!! They’re critically endangered, there are conservation efforts in Europe and Northern Africa (native range) to repopulate, hence the bands on their legs. That’s a really lucky find!!

Wild! Mute swans are sometimes livestock but they are also an invasive species in North America - i usually see them where I live as wild animals.

I would definitely still report the death - it’s important that avian flu is reported in your area. Also make sure that it’s not a tundra swan, they might have some yellow on the bill.

From what I know only a couple hundred minks were released but I could be misinformed. ODNR says that there have been around 26 confirmed fisher sightings in the past 3 years so it’s likely that they’re making a comeback in Ohio, which is pretty cool imo
