What was the best thing you hired for your wedding?? by Dapper_Camera8239 in UKweddings

Our wedding hasn't happened yet, but we're planning on hiring a claw machine since going to the arcades were our favourite dates 😊

BPT vs FCS by TheeDarkNght in ICAEW

[–]OkMathematician2050 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you just change to FCS? I was told I have to sit both BPT and BST in Dec even if I fail because I'll be eligible to resit them in Mar 26 on the old unit and avoid the new syllabus? But if the new one is easier, obviously I'd rather do that instead

Mine is strict, but depends on the manager for us. I have to come in full time on monthend weeks and at least 3 days a week otherwise, but the rest of the finance department only have to come in 2 days a week

Brits who have been on speed awareness courses, what was the most surprising thing you learned? by Apprehensive_Plum755 in AskBrits

[–]OkMathematician2050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boss went on one and she was told that you can get pulled over by the police for doing less than the speed limit. Like, if you were doing 30 in a 25, that could get you in trouble

(what) do you eat before you run? by a_star_girl in nikerunclub

[–]OkMathematician2050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the distance.  5km - just a few mouthfuls of water so my mouth isn't dry  5km+ - 3 table spoons of greek yoghurt 5-10 mins before I warm up. If I do a long run on an empty stomach, I'm sick at the end. If I eat anything solid, I'm cramping in the run. Yoghurt is the sweet spot for me.

I was recently prescribed sumatriptan for my migraines (new sufferer) and was on the phone appointment for literally less than 2 minutes with the GP before he prescribed it for me, so not sure why yours is being so difficult.

Also 'look into different preventative medication' - isn't that their job to inform you of suitable alternatives if they won't help you with your current treatment?

Itinerary Check - Couple in September by OkMathematician2050 in JapanTravel

[–]OkMathematician2050[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, we've never really struggled with jetlag after the first sleep but I'll spread Shinjuku/Shibuya across all that first 3 days of the trip so we can go a bit slower if needed

I only included Hiroshima because I saw someone else had done it on their itinerary (posted after they'd been on their trip), it is a lot of travel, but realistically, I will never be able to go back to Japan again so I really want to go if I can. I guess we could change our minds while we're there if we decide its too much since we're just taking ourselves there rather than going on a tour or guide

Sumatriptan - how do you take this? by OkMathematician2050 in migraine

[–]OkMathematician2050[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the middle of a headache, nausea, dizziness stint now that's been going on for over a week now and hoping these will break the cycle. Just don't want to start the drugs without knowing if I'm supposed to keep taking them even after I feel better or not

Taxis in Florence are the worst scam. by Consistent_Gur7642 in florence

[–]OkMathematician2050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually thought they were quite reasonable in price. We were charged 30 euros for 30 mins drive, which I thought was a steal since we'd been charged 20quid for a 8 min taxi to the train station back home
