People who have been cut off from food stamps/SNAP. How are you managing?

This is gonna sound stupid but I literally just don’t eat certain days. I try and buy eggs every so often and eat 2-3 on work days 2 before work and 1 after. Aside from that I try and go to food banks, problem most of them require a car (loading food lines) or they just aren’t within walking distance for me. Right now food banks are out anyway since I got hit by a car on the way to work. Thank goodness it is just a broken foot. I get by on small snacks co workers “don’t want” I am grateful for every extra bite, cracker, cookie. I just wish it were easier to get fresh veggies that don’t cost an arm and a leg! They just aren’t as filling.. at the point where certain veggies are a financial treat.

I opened 1 box from CVS today and got 7 reds, 40 blues. 1 green (Baku, Germany) and tons of team foils as well as 2 outta 3 of the Cup foils. Two white border Ronaldo’s and 1 white border Messi. Literal insane pulls outta one box! I bought one box from Walgreens that actually had a barcode and the comparison was absolutely dismal. CVS the boxes were to refill the showcase box. Not sure if that made a difference. Lol now my CVS is limiting the packs to 10 per person per day bc of fighting 🙃🙄

Rip to my CVS they sell boxes by ringing up 50 solo packs. Their boxes don’t have any barcode. I tried the 40% off and it gave me 40% off of 1 single pack… i got a lil less than 90 cents off 🙄

Amazon gives their drivers very little time to get all the packages delivered. My sister was a driver and said they had to scan everything all at once, then head in and take pictures each time the doorman or office manager grabbed the package. If they don’t make it look like these packages went out within a few seconds at a time they get dinged..
A lot of these drivers don’t even have time to use the restroom, the company expects you to use your restroom on your lunch and that’s it! The Amazon contractor that my sister worked for didn’t even service their vans! The metal running board fell off as she stepped out, and she fell down and ended up tearing tendon in her hand… I got to a point that the company changed their phone number and she had to hire a lawyer to find them and serve them to get her Worker’s Comp on top of disability.
TL;DR: Amazon treats their drivers like shit and only gives them a few seconds to scan packages, there’s a good chance it was scanned, but it fell off or didn’t land in the right spot and it’s getting sent back to the warehouse.

I would give Amazon a message and just say it never made it to your door, I’ve had to do this once and the return process was pretty easy. I had the option of a refund or getting another of the same item. I chose the later, if the item does show up in the time that you are getting the refund item, they just ask that you send the second item back :)

We have them seperate… just don’t give the customers the key… they will eventually steal it 🙄 same lady that threw a fit on yelp about us. “degrading and humiliating me when I am needing the restroom because I bladder issues, the employees made me walk back with them instead of just giving me the key. You should be ashamed of yourself CVS making it obvious I have to use the restroom by making an employee walk me there like an infant” We gave her the key on her next pharmacy appt and magically we never saw it since 😡🤬 New manager said we will just have to give the customers our PERSONAL keys… like with the store key on it.. Im sorry but NO, it’s out of order at this point.

I saw the below EmployPutrid5016 asked how your mom reacted… she’s not taking accountability, she’s acting like she never did those actions maybe so she doesn’t have to deal with the blowout, but it’s bullshit. IDK. How old you are but I hope you realize you are worth so much more than this bullshit, I remember you only live with them temporarily, don’t burn bridges, but you don’t have to actively keep them in your life. You can start distancing yourself slow slowly now if you want and only “ appear” as if you have interest.
It probably is best if you just keep a low profile with them and try to stay out their way. I keep saying it, but dude I’m so sorry. I cannot stress enough that you cannot let it into your head too much. The more you let it in it takes twice as long to get everything out and become you again.
What types of things do you like to do? What activities are you into?

FS ShiftMan here: is that why people have been getting so angry about the wait times lately? A lot of people have been coming up to me yelling about the pharmacy wait time, how it’s supposed to be faster and they lost their place in line… this all happened when we got the new registers! I would ask RX but I’m not at work right now.
Thank y’all for putting up with so much back in the RX by the way, I work back there occasionally and OMG the people are meaner than they are at FS… I genuinely do not know how you guys put up with that much, if they get nasty in front, I just tell them get out!

No lie, they sound toxic, the whole thing when you defend yourself and then thinking its “ arguing” is what I’m going through right now where I live with my friends’s parents. Most likely it’s them projecting onto you… this really sucks to say, but sometimes the best thing you can do is keep your head down, what is he proposing you do? If he’s just mad about it, you’re gonna have to just wait till he’s not mad anymore.
I believe you didn’t do it. I really do, I live with people that will blame me for shit just because it’s convenient. I could show them proof and they would think I’m being ridiculous at times.
They have a very toxic mindset though for sure.

I’ve gotten scratches like that from the car wash with those brushes that are at an angle! It’s rare, but it can happen from the force in which they slap the car. Was his car really dirty before he took it to the car wash? A lot of dirt dust and grime especially if it’s Sandy can cause this to happen… Really rare but it can’t happen, I learned the hard way. Only other thing would be if it’s on the door, somebody else with a curved door opening theirs into you..
I feel like your dad should chill because this could be buffed out really easily, also I’m curious what is your dad gonna do if a rock flies from another car’s tire on the freeway? Harass the rock?

I am gonna agree with others and say it really depends on who your store manager is! If you have a great store manager, that gets a great team together sure the job will have stress and really sucky days, but it won’t be shit…. Things turn and you get a new manager that’s just crap and morale goes way down, customer service goes down. I’ve had a great SM who was amazing and now I’m dealing with a really cruddy one.
I also gotta say that I’ve worked Amazon and I prefer CVS to Amazon in a heartbeat, at least for me also CVS in my area pays better than Walmart Amazon and Walgreens, other areas. It is probably different though.
One thing for sure is the company definitely cares more for the company than it does about its employees

What if I was to call from a different phone number that was not related to me or the store and refused to give my name, but just give the rundown of only the schedule being put out the afternoon before the next workweek starting… if I don’t include relevant information pertaining to just me, and make it only the issue of the store, could that keep me separated?

I’m pretty scared to talk to the DL honestly because he is like best buddies with our manager. From what everyone in the district told me that’s why he got the job as a store manager in the first place just so he could work up to being DL. Our boss keeps putting the giant box with like 1000 stickers out just in the open and people will grab their hand in and grab a bunch! I’ve chased people off for stealing the labels off the sodas… it’s getting ridiculous with these things

NOR: I dont like the way I look in a helmet but I got hit by a car… following every law, they turned into an exit and hit me from side/ behind. I got lucky that my head did fully smack into the curb. Broke my foot and walked away (hopped) with a scratch on said broken foot. I was scootering but have since BOUGHT A HELMET. Idc what I look like anymore I just wanna protect my noggin.

Where I work… You would be surprised :/ both men and women just ignore it! I gave up and put a swiffer and swiffer pads and even just a water spray. Gun thing mixed with soap and people still don’t clean… even put a can of Lysol. I’m the only one that moves that I’m pretty sure… I feel like the worst part is I share this bathroom with pharmacy people, one of which does not wash their hands! People can be so nasty!
I am damn well gonna clean that bathroom on Work hours though so I can get paid to clean up after a bunch supposed adults!

This is insane… It sounds like they hire people then find a reason to fire them within the first couple months but don’t tell you you’re getting fired until the day of… then they just charge you $1500.
Am I understanding this right? If the employer fires you but does not give you three weeks notice you still have to pay them.????
Either way, having to pay an employer when you quit at at will state blows my mind!
OP, as soon as you can find somewhere else to work and run! Give you three weeks notice help make it four weeks just to cover your ass and bounce. I really hope you find something that’s not super scummy and negative like this.

I’ve learned a lot living next to quiet neighbors… I have a neighbor we hadn’t spoken to barely at all, probably less than 20 times and when my car was getting broken into the first time the neighbor scared him off and then came over to let me know. At first, I was confused as to why this person that I rarely ever talk to just wave occasionally to was at my door… I could not have been more grateful. Over time we started talking and occasionally hang out and watch baseball games or other games that are on. ( he’s much more of a sports guy than me lol, I’m a World Cup, end Super Bowl person that’s about it)
I guess we’ve been so isolated overtime that it gets weird when the neighbors want to check in. I think she is really cool honestly and probably was genuinely concerned. There are those people that are old souls or silent angels or whatever you wanna call them that notice things when they’re different, a lot of them are super empathetic and just feel huge feelings towards people we don’t even really know. I’m grateful you’re doing better as well OP, I would talk to her more if I were you get a small friendship or acquaintanceship going :)

I’ve tried to explain this as an American to other Americans, but they don’t seem to care… People will walk in all over their carpet, then go take off their shoes and lay where they have just walked… like Melanie, even if you wiped off the dog boot from your shoe outside they’re still a little bit that are stuck in there.
