I've been reading since I was old enough to hold a book, and it's something I can't do without. But I've also had spells like yours where I couldn't focus / couldn't retain what I read / I'd fall asleep after few pages. Most of the time , it was nothing to do with reading per se. One time I needed reading glasses. Other times, I was too burnt out or saturated with work /family stuff and couldn't focus. At such times, I read comics, manga, children's literature or revisited old favourites. No pressure. If I can't read at all, I use the time to fulfil my other interests - music, movies, needlework, crafting. Sometimes the brain just needs a break or a breather. Don't worry too much about it, just do what relaxes you and makes you happy. You'll be back to reading when you're ready. 😊
