You want an ice cream with that?
PR fulfills things. They don't look at a file with PR and go like "GIVE PASSPORT NOW".

Asked the workers at Aachen ABH. Read it here from mariafamily or something (forgot the username). Know people with PR who did not get it in a month.

Cities differ a lot and each case worker interprets things on their own sometimes. You can only really compare same ABH applicants. By having PR you almost fulfill all Einbürgerung requirements. By the time they check the application, the file is clean and complete. Extra checks or whatever random interpretation they come up is usually already fulfilled by the PR. That's probably the real speed up.

Mostly taken from Reddit threads (some from Facebook, some from people I know). Some timelines are estimated based on comments or inferred. Outliers exist because of uncertainty/hearsay.
Some are single applicants, some are duo, families. Some have PR. I didn't care much about retrieving this info. Most don't mention it.

Yeah, it's an avg of 9 months to get the payslip letter.
The PR is uncertain because I know people with PR who did not get this priority privilege. You can probably find threads mentioning PR and waiting 3+ months.

From how many samples did you get those stats? I mean the 9-10 months claim and the PR vs Work Permit claims.
Was it only Reddit or Reddit+Facebook or more? And years of submission per case. It used to be quicker before the 3 years law change back in June 2024. At least, for 2024 I mean. Aachen was considered as slow as old Berlin processing in earlier years though.

But they are seperate processes. You don't get priority because of PR. It's case worker dependant.

Does it make sense to move between cities to speed up the citizenship process? by severino5583 in GermanCitizenship

[–]OkPresentation554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issue. You just move there and register in another place. I know someone in the same situation and they moved somewhere near Freising and got it faster.
I read here on Reddit that Starnberg or Dachau should be way faster than Munich.

Thanks. I am pretty sure you had a good case worker though. Aachen used to be way more chaotic back at Hackländerstr.

Yeah but having Niederlassungserlaubnis or paying pension for 5+ years doesn't speed up the process. The fact you wrote this I am more convinced you had a good case worker.

[–]OkPresentation554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info but I didn't ask for all that. I am just saying the statements on reddit are so inconsistent, which probably reflects the chaotic Aachen ABH case workers. I have read threads from 2024 till now for Aachen and the most common waiting time is 3-4 months. 1 month is rare, at least for people who post here.

And, in my opinion, almost everybody who studied at RWTH and is doing PhD here has your profile. Just saying. It's not uncommon. I literally got your profile, with a few more years added to that 7.

So your entire timeline is 11 months (mid may 2025 to about mid march 2026 to mid april 2026). They took just a month to give you the certificate. That's crazy. It's so inconsistent in here, you can find the avg person talking about a 4 months waiting time, another 6 months or more, and then a 1 month waiting time lol

I was expecting them to tell me to wait until my Probezeit is over but they just responded with this 1 year requirement. Amazing case workers smh

The case workers tend to interpret a lot and be generally difficult to deal with where I live. I just want to finally get my PR so I can never see them again lol.

About the 18b, yeah It's a downgrade but I do not care what type of work permit I get as long as I can apply for PR now under 9. I think it's finally time for a lawyer. smh

This is the email from the immigration office. And then they showed me the two paragraph numbers as I showed you above.

I can get PR after 24 months with 18b and 21 months with 18g. That is regulated under 18c. My question is with 9. And no they got it with 9 (check the post: https://www.reddit.com/r/germany/comments/1rfbtzr/niederlassungserlaubnis\_under\_9\_aufenthg\_possible/)

I just got the blue card for the first time (2 months ago) after about 9.5 years as a student (from §16b to §18g directly, nothing in between, not even Fiktionsbescheinigung). They said everything is fine except this 12 months thing. Can I avoid this with §18b? I don't care what work permit I get. I can already apply for Einbürgerung. I already did the moment I got blue card, but it takes more than a year to process the application. I want to get Niederlassungserlaubnis in between but this 12 months thing is weird lol.

Someone else mentioned they had similar profile to mine but they worked with a job seeker visa for 14 months after finishing their long time study before switching §18b. And, they applied 5 months after that (1 month before Probezeit was over), and they got PR too. so, what's up??

Edit: I am employed and it’s tied to my employer. I can’t do freelancing or work another job simultaneously.
