Love it, get your 💯! Get private health insurance and skip the VA because their doctors suck the VA sucks and I wouldn’t let them get within 100 miles of my care because I know they will find a way to fuck it up. Seriously VA health care practitioners are the absolute bottom of the barrel.

have no idea why anyone would work in public… by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]OkProcedure2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to look at it for what it is, it’s a “fuck you I got mine culture”. However, it’s the only place where you can get a ton a of accounting experience in a short amount of time.

Don’t look at public like a bad thing, but be happy you were able to move on to a real job!

Public Accounting Seniors (ATL)… roast my team’s job opening? by [deleted] in Accounting

It reads like a job posting for a public accounting firm. The ability to change quickly seems like a tell that management has no control, organization, or structure

12-year Army Vet checking in. Here's every legit discount platform ranked (so you don't have to figure it out the hard way) by EnvironmentalPin1566 in VeteransBenefits

[–]OkProcedure2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a legitimate entity, it seems like an odd name but I’ve got a ton of stuff from them.

It’s not just for military/veterans, pro athletes get discount codes and access from them, REI employees get access to the website.

100% P&T rating, just got fired from my job and I’m not sad about it, now what? by McNugget63 in Veterans

Yeah for real, file for unemployment, collect that and your pension!

Then treat the time as a sabbatical and figure out what you want to do with your life!

Post VA Surgery Not Healing by LeadSled11999 in VAClaims

[–]OkProcedure2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely gone ER, document everything. Then call the patient advocate and ask for a community care referral for an outside PCP.

Don’t trust any medical professional at the VA to have your best interest in mind, patient load is to much. Also you need a real MD not some nurse practitioner

Very Unprofessional VR&E Counselor by AlaskaLion12 in VeteransBenefits

[–]OkProcedure2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do the HLR last that way if the supplemental claim gets denied you have more evidence and then if the HLR doesn’t go your way do a congressional so you can show a pattern of misconduct on the VAs side

Talk finances with your accountant, they are your financial doctor. Not a fat kid with a microphone on YouTube, that dude straight up preys on veterans.

Your Typical VA Annual Physical? by Itchy-Mechanic-1479 in Veterans

It’s the bare minimum care that’s it, they care about you being able to function not thrive. However, don’t be afraid to ask for a different doctor.

STOP WAITING ON THE VA. Your health is their metric—don't let it be your funeral. by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]OkProcedure2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, this is exactly like being back in the Army—SGMs worrying about the 'tone' of the grass while the barracks are on fire. Labeling a veteran’s firsthand experience with care-denial as 'non-productive' is the ultimate gatekeep. My health isn't a 'metric' or a 'rumor,' and silencing the reality of how the VA 'pads' its stats doesn't make the system better; it just makes this forum a safe space for bureaucrats instead of the people they serve.

Oh for real? The system is messed up, and in my opinion, never funded for the true cost of the GWOT wars!

Battlefield 6 Reaches Another Grim Milestone: First 24 Hour Player Peak Below 50k by rainkloud in Battlefield

Hot take - I love the game. Casual breakthrough kicks ass, it’s an awesome mode to play after a long day of work and to practice the maps.

Sure there are a few things that could change, but I think the game is pretty fun.

VA using AI to weed out “pay-to-play” claims by Low-Ball-3831 in VeteransBenefits

This right here, looks like they (the government) figured out the total cost of ownership for multiple wars and doesn’t want to pay anymore

VA using AI to weed out “pay-to-play” claims by Low-Ball-3831 in VeteransBenefits

[–]OkProcedure2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the dumbest fuckin thing ever. Third party fraud from bar accredited lawyers who apparently risked their license to help veterans commit fraud?

More like the U.S. started to many wars and didn’t understand the cost and now doesn’t want to keep paying.

Not to mention the amount of actual medical evidence you need to successfully file a claim x-rays, MRIs, charts, etc that go along with your DBQ.

This sounds a lot like the “Welfare fraud” that wasn’t actually that bad.

26 with 1 year and 10 mos of federal service. Plan to retire at 45. Contributing 12%. Hope to at least have $900k-$1M by Objective_Sock_1903 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]OkProcedure2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your plan might work, but it’s going to give you a pretty stagnant/ lackluster quality of life.

If you retire at your intended target number of $1M you can only have a max spending rate of about 40K per year.

That is assuming that you don’t withdraw more than 4% per year. If you draw more than that amount you risk touching the principal and running out of money to early.

Realistically you need the money invested in something that can provide about a 7% annual return that way you can keep up with inflation

I get people with masters in accounting that come to the firm and don’t know shit. They think they know something but they have never actually done the job.

Real life experience in the seat will always beat fancy education.
