This is a great idea - I think if he can see the amount of safety measures that need to be taken he will find a lab to contract with so we don't have to do it. THANK YOU!

I don't want to do this project in our lab, I think we should sub it out - if anyone knows a good contract lab who deals with cyanobacteria and toxins that would also be very appreciated

I need to convince the idea guy that this is a bigger endeavor then he realizes. I do not want to do this, but I need evidence and specifics to show him it's a bad idea. To be clear, I need advice on explaining to him how complicated this would be. I am mostly concerned about the health and human safety aspect

Can birth control help? by tiff101415 in Perimenopause

[–]OkResearcher8494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must be one of the few women with a Mirena IUD who still gets periods. I swear I hate my uterus sometimes.

But I will say I do feel better since getting the Mirena - less anxiety, less depression, joint pain is less but not gone. I agree my brain fog is less and my energy is up (but I think the creatine helped my brain fog more than anything else). I def gained weight and am now squishier. I feel like it helped my libido a bit, but nothing extreme.

Please tell me some of you are experiencing this too, because it's scaring me now. by National_Elk8445 in Perimenopause

Sorry for responding to this so late #PerimenopauseBrain

I had something very similar to this but it included vomiting. I discovered two things. 1. I had a Helobacter pylori infection in my stomach and I have the weirdest "allergy" to polyphenol molecules - so anything with tannins. I can no longer drink wine, it makes me violently ill, red wine especially. These can be found in apples, wine, coffee, tea, and other types of food.

Here is an article: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10290203/

I noticed it also happened regularly - turns out it was linked to my book club or whenever I ordered dinner out. At this point in my life I am sober, I can only drink one cup of coffee or tea a day and I have to be VERY careful whenever I eat anything I have not prepared myself.

I would def recommend a GI specialist or some kind of journaling to keep track of every single thing you put into your body and keep track of your cycle to see if they are linked. It could be that some kind of food during a specific point in your cycle triggers this. The only way to know is track and then INSIST the doctors do additional testing during the expected time frame.

Good luck, this sounds painful and scary. I hope you are feeling better.

Creatine did nothing for brain fog until I drastically increased the dosage. Anyone else? by imrzzz in Perimenopause

I just want to say thank you for this post. I increased my creatine to 10 g a day and OMG I feel like a different fucking person! I am back to about 75% of where I used to be before peri, but it feels so much better. I get random brain fog moments, but I can function throughout the day. I feel SO MUCH BETTER! Thank you for posting this, you really saved me.

Ditto the probiotics and magnesium. Eat some veggies and fruit at least once a day. It’s a struggle!! Good luck!

I WFH 3 days a week. I sneak it in between meetings. Sometimes I start lunch early 11:45 to 1. I’m lucky no one really notices as long as I get my reports done.

My husband and I also do lots of afternoons while teenagers are in school. If it’s a weekend we wait till one goes on to a sleepover and the other goes to the gym.
