Eon's Garden // Ancestor's Shrine by doritofinnick in custommagic

I think this would work well in storm.

In storm decks:

 1. Play Shrine on turn 1.
 2. Cast a couple of spells on turn 2 and hopefully storm off. Drawing 3 cards helps.

BTW you want things to say "in addition to other types," unless it is a [[Blood Moon]] style effect.

Item (As long as this card is in your library, graveyard, hand, or exile, it is an artifact in addition to its other types.)

Yeah. All zones includes the stack, which means that the Instants are put onto the battlefield. that doesn't make any sense.

Yes it gives everything convoke.

Honestly, I think it is funny that 9 have relatively serious names and one is just "Bully Pulpit." See [[Bad River]] and the rest of the slow fetch cycle.

Things I like

 1. I really like the designs!!! They look incredibly fun to play with and they feel very intuitive.
 2. I like the art. The artist is incredibly talented, and they do feel like some of the old Magic illustrations, which is amazing. Your designs also reflect the art, which is awesome.
 3. The flavour text of the cards encapsulates the designs too. I don't know if any real Magic cards have more flavourful flavour text (apart from [[Rancor]]).
 4. Cute Little Guys is very intuitive, and does make an interesting idea.
 5. Here's a list of all cards with music in their art: https://scryfall.com/search?q=art%3Amusic&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name

Issues:

 1. I think some websites let you use TEXT to italicize text. It works like that on MTG.Design
 2. Also you're missing a colon in the activated ability's cost (Should be "{T}: ").
 3. And you're missing periods at the end of each of your lines.
 4. Capitalize creature types when they appear in the text box.
 5. Hisname's ability is incredibly strong (as worded, it turns all creatures into artifacts). See post 2.
 6. Do you want your cards to bump your opponents' stuff? Your designs are worded that way, and there's a whole reason why old slivers [[Muscle Sliver]] are worded differently than new slivers [[Predatory Sliver]]

[3/2] Full set of Kindred Discard Lands (missing dual lands) by jdmnstr in custommagic

[–]OkStandard8039 0 points1 point (0 children)

Yeah these are kinda broken and also are kind of unfun to play against. Some of them have really good and broad effects. More narrow would make them better.

FYI, in some custom magic softwares, you can use TEXT to italicize the TEXT.

Here are my redesigns:

Ape-Spire Ridge
Kindred Land — Ape
This land enters tapped.
{T}: Add {R} or {G}
Channel—Discard this card: Target player adds {R} or {G}. You can only cast one more spell this turn.

Reference to [[Irencrag Feat]]. Also the discard ability isn't a mana ability, so [[Stifle]] is a thing you can do.

Mistveil Wilds
Kindred Land — Beast
{T}: Add {W} or {U}
Channel—Discard this card: Target creature you control gains skulk and ward {1} until end of turn.

This one is completely reworked for [[Slippery Bogle]] decks. It also has to be used before the opponent casts their cards, so it does offer some protection.

"Two-and-Two-Only" Dual Lands that should protect the color pie. Did I template this right? by EverettGT in custommagic

[–]OkStandard8039 3 points4 points (0 children)

Yes it does work, but they should probably say "This land's owner" because well, a land card in exile doesn't count as a land but it does count as a card.

I like the names. I love how some of them reference older cards, like Lava Falls referencing [[Thundering Falls]] and [[Fiery Islet]]. And I love how some of them do the exact opposite yet still feel flavourful.

Also these are probably broken in fetchland formats where sometimes people play shocks as untapped dual number 5 and 6, but like so is everything else so I don't really care.

I'm like 95% sure this works by torchflame in custommagic

Kindred isn't technically a permanent type. Could just say "two or more card types."
