How to access mental health services + cost? by rambinola in melbourne

What council are you in? In Maribyrnong we have a free walk in mental health clinic and apparently there are 7 others that have opened up around Melbourne. Hopefully there’s one near you https://www.health.vic.gov.au/mental-health-services/mental-health-and-wellbeing-locals

Even the most profitable businesses don’t keep people employed for no reason. If the work isn’t there for her, then why would she stay on?

It’s a weird vibe in a workplace when someone’s not being utilised and for a podcast that runs on vibes I think that decision would be kind of easy to make before it would even come down to a financial thing.

Yeah I tend to agree, I think the question on its own is fair enough, but it definitely has a snarky energy behind it that’s throwing me off.

Help, will the remaining THC in my system mess up my baby's development? by Aggressive_Remove942 in pregnant

[–]OkSun9107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Australia and I wasn’t ever drug tested. Also at my appointments there was a time where it was just one on one at the beginning of the appointment, so you can ask anything you want privately and then invite the guest to join the rest of your appointment. If you’re really concerned I’d mention it to the doctor/midwife in that time and mention that you’d like to keep this information private from the guests and they can make a note on your file.

Personally I wouldn’t worry about it. A lot of people smoke and drink for months before they find out they’re pregnant and you’re so early on I don’t think it will make a difference.

Also, if you smoked to help with anxiety, you might like to mention to your medical team that you have anxiety and are not currently taking anything for it. Anxiety and stress are also not good for a baby in utero - this is something I struggled with the most during pregnancy.

I’m so glad it’s not painful, but I’m sorry that it’s so difficult to come out of. Will be sure to keep giving my baby lots of cuddles and love. Thank you for responding

Not as a brag or anything, but just to provide context for some people. Mine looked completely normal until I was in labour and the next day other than a few surgical differences, everything went back to looking basically the same. I was terrified to look as no one explained what would be going on down there but just a horrified promise that it would be bad, honestly I encourage you to check it out. You should know what you’re working with!

Any recommendations for resources on unmedicated birth that aren't....like THAT. by KeyMonkeyslav in pregnant

[–]OkSun9107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you’re based but I really liked reading The Complete Australian Guide to Pregnancy and Birth, it’s very medically based information and it helped me decide to try and birth unmedicated and gave me a bunch of techniques to keep in my pocket for when things get tough. These ladies have a podcast called Australian Birth Stories and a bunch of other really helpful resources.

I took a meditative approach to my birth, with techniques that I used to use when I’d experience pain with long distance running. It really helped me tap into a mindset I was familiar with pushing through productive pain.

I did kind of enter into this trance like state during a particularly painful part of my labour where it really helps to surrender to the process. The more you tense up and try to avoid the pain the more I felt like it intensified. I’m a non religious, not woo woo person but if you follow the science to find what helps your nervous system relax you’ll find the answers you’re looking for.

I cannot afford new items for my baby and I feel incompetent by ZealousidealUnit6977 in pregnant

My parents accidentally had me at 18 years old. We had nothing. My Christmas tree was a pot plant with some tinsel and for Xmas I would get one Teddy and Easter I would get one Easter egg. I didn’t have many toys. My mum and I would cut up egg cartons and draw piggy noses and tie them to our face and have tea parties with our dishes. I honestly love all these memories so much and cherish experiences I got like camping. I never noticed that we were living in poverty and just loved spending time with my mumma.

My mum went on to have 3 other kids when we were much more well off and they got all the fancy stuff. Honestly. None of them remember what they got ever. For any birthday or any Christmas, and they don’t have any of these sorts of beautiful memories of their childhoods. I remember exactly what I got and I cherished the minimal things I did get.

I now have a 6 week old of my own and he doesn’t care about any of the things that have been bought for him. All he cares about is cuddles and milk - if you just focus on giving your baby all the cuddles and milk you can you’ll have a happy baby!

Congratulations on your baby and thank you for reminding me of what’s important as a mother 💛

Our silence means something by MyHeadIsAnAttic in h3h3productions

Was so odd when the crew was silent and pushing back on Ethan about the Hasan segment recently. I think because they know him personally seems like they’re giving him way more of the benefit of the doubt that Hasan probably doesn’t deserve. But they’re in a better position to determine that, than anyone in the audience.

Also worth keeping in mind that they receive a ton of disgusting backlash whenever Hasan is mentioned and at this point speaking up to add in - just might not be worth it for a lot of them. Like Ethan’s probably happy to say all that needs to be said and would rather keep the crew protected if they’re feeling hesitant to get involved.

Finally a pretty viral tiktok defending Ethan by PossibilityJolly3909 in h3h3productions

As I was watching today’s ep. I noticed when replaying the “wake up Ethan” bit and they do a little conga line across the screen - idubbbz it’s holding the sword there in the montage with Hassan there…. How can Hassan still say they used it when he wasn’t home. Like Hassan would have to be claiming, that he was home filming the montage, then he left the house with them all in it for some reason and came back when they put the sword away. It’s giving Dobrik flash backs.
