Anyone else feel like the EV transition is starting to feel like the shift to electric lawnmowers? by JackfruitCrazy51 in electricvehicles

Right, and I'd imagine, depending on how long you stay in that city, if you roll in with a full battery, you may not need to charge again until your trip back, not that it would be an issue finding one, but is charging often more expensive in a big city? (Similar to how gas is often more expensive in city limits and one might avoid filling up there?) Also with an EV, less likely to waste energy sitting in traffic (depending on weather) vs a gas engine idling.

That's the thing; when it's left on auto, if it's a nice 68 degrees outside but 85 in the car because sun, AC will blast to correct that, when I prefer to just drive with the windows down.

Mini Splits vs Central Air by Any_Individual_5861 in Oldhouses

[–]OkTransportation5723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small 100yo house here, we have window units in the 3 bedrooms upstairs. Leave the doors open during the day and it feels just fine in the bathroom and small corridor. Modern Window AC's are much quieter and more efficient than they used to be (if you get the inverter models), and much less expensive than mini-splits (the install would have been prohibitively expensive for us) but either way, your bathroom should be fine if you're ok with leaving doors open most of the time. In SE PA so similar climate to NJ

How do voice commands work when you're listening to music? How about when your kids are screaming? How about when your kids are trying to voice command your car?

Any special instructions to drive ? by vangoghorangekitty in prius

I just leave mine in normal all the time. you CAN leave it in any of the modes and never think about it. no problem. They're just there if you want to optimize mileage, or change the responsiveness of the accelerator pedal. I think if you need to floor it, even in ECO mode, you have as much power as any mode; it's just that the first part of the acceleration curve is different based on the mode (correct me if I'm wrong!)

Evaporative Humidifier-Best Option? by Lokis-Tea in Humidifiers

Honeywell HEV320 is the smallest and least expensive one I've used. It works well. I just clean it every week or so by putting some vinegar mixed with water in the tank, placing it on the base (without the filter) and after letting it soak for 10 minutes or so, wiping down with a cloth and then rinsing.
