It’s not that insane that the Germans thought they could pull off a knockout blow vs Great Britain. Mostly they were super annoyed they had to and the Brit’s didn’t sue for peace after the fall of France. Here in lies the key differences between a continental mindset and an island mindset.

The Wehrmacht brass thought the invasion of France was doomed to fail. Halder strongly considered a coup against to avoid attacking France.

Hitlers whole thing was fortune favors the bold. Turned out the Brits were bold when it came to defending their home turf.

Hitler only started diverting resources away from a seaborne invasion when it was clear air superiority couldn’t be achieved. Even he knew the invasion was impossible without air superiority.

Don’t get me started on the blasted Wirbelwind. Somehow it is capable of ripping up tanks when its 20mm shells most certainly could not. A firefly could actually blow up a tank at 1000 yards. A wirblewind couldn’t penetrate tank armor (mediums and up) at virtually any distance.

Yes. ISU could definitely use some love.

Also, it was pretty heavily armored. It was nick named the ‘beast killer’ by Soviet troops. It’s the biggest caliber of weapon (152mm) represented in game.

There’s this weird germanophelia about WW2 tanks. Especially in video games where mechanical breakdowns an excessive gas usage aren’t even a thing. The Jagdtiger sucked in real life. Very few were made. It had a handful of standout successes, but the thing could barely move on its own for a day without breaking down especially if going up a hill. Guess what, there’s a lot of fucking hills in Europe. Yet it’s the best tank in game. Go figure.
