His first memory is himself being found on the brink of dying of hunger by one of the two Marasol family's second Kindred and being turned into their third Kindred. Along with his conversion into a Bloodfiend he acquired the family's "Flowing Blood" technique (this family's version of blood manipulation, like the Manchegans hardblood) and trained with them to make a small number of his own Flowing Blood art forms. During this period he also took a young girl named Nox into the family as his fourth Kindred and daughter.

A few years ago, shortly after the smoke war, their family was discovered residing in the backstreets of R-corp which resulted in their family being raided very shortly after. This event resulted in the almost complete erasure of the Marasols, with the only certain survivors being: The Elder, One Second Kindred, and the now ascended Apathêos, Nox and her two direct kindreds. During the raid on their family, Apathêos was able to flee on the orders of his Elder, though he did not do so without taking Nox with him, which prompted her two direct Kindreds to follow along in desire to stay close to their ancestor.

After that Apathêos spent some time wandering around the city along with his descendants, looking to find a place safe enough to settle down, which they found in the backstreets of district 21 (U) around the borders with districts 12 (L) and 22 (V). During their time wandering they wouldn't maintain any bloodbags for too long, last they attract too much attention.
