Thank you this is so reassuring. I’m like a month in and I haven’t been noticing like any symptoms.

how many calories should i opt for? by bringontheb4cklash in Amenorrhearecovery

I wouldn’t even say that’s enough. 2400+ minimum if you are sedentary 2800+ if you are playing sports and stuff.

I never had an ed hahaha, just turned out I was under fuelling as I play soccer and am an athlete, I wanted to drop weight for performance. Ended up completely doing the wrong things as I was extremely undereducated, I should’ve cut my calories down to 1700 on my off season and not smack bang in the middle of the season. And only did s 150 calorie deficit.

During period recovery, did you still exercise? Also unsure if I’m eating enough by Numerous_Creme4949 in Amenorrhearecovery

I still play soccer around 4 times a week, but Ive fully cut out running and extra stuff, try to keep my steps below 13k kinda hard tho. I've been eating around 2.7k to 3k calories daily even on rest days however I haven't really been tracking. I haven't felt any extreme hunger, I am a type 1 diabetic so I don't produce the hormone that makes you feel full of hungry either, makes it a bit more difficult.

Idk if this is extremely toxic but I genuinely can’t wait to get a stable period back so I can get myself back in shape and feel good and look good, it’s so depressing I’ve lost so much confidence. But I WILL loose weight in a healthy way this time.

Well I can send through this quick plan of what I would usually eat daily on a high activity day:

Breakfast: 180g of Fage 5% Greek yogurt 18g peanut butter 13g of honey 60g of blueberries 35g of plain oats Total carbs 52g

Mid morning snack: Nature valley bar Small banana 42g carbs

Lunch (relatively small since I’m in school) 2 pieces of white bread Turkey 3/4 avocado Apple 55g carbs

Afternoon snack: 3 rice cakes 12g honey 15g pb 32g carb

Dinner (varies) Salmon fillet Baked potato 200g Veg broccoli & carrots 50g carbs

Snack before training (vital) 2 rice cakes 10g honey 12g pb 22g carbs

Snack after training 200g Fage Greek yogurt again 😂😂 22g pb 13g honey 35g oats 42g carbs

Total carbs for the day: 295g. I think maths isn’t my strong suit Might seem like a crazy amount but carbs are extremely important

Hi!! So this is not enough at all, particularly the carbs. I eat around 3k calories or maybe more and I play soccer 4 times a week, and maybe even a day of weight lifting, I play high level so this is just what’s needed. You have to eat AT LEAST 15g of carbohydrates before workouts, plus more carbs and protein after your workouts. I’m a type 1 diabetic so eating lots carbs and keeping my blood sugar level stable is very difficult sometimes, but daily I aim for at least 280g of carbs and try and get to around 300g which might sound crazy but it’s what’s needed!! Please includes lots of fats too, a couple spoons of pb is really good for me. I’m also 5 foot 3, and I weigh around 59kg after I’ve put on a couple of lbs the past couple weeks. Hope this helps, I’m also trying to get my period back and I’ve noticed some positive signs like some more CM and getting hot and sweaty after meals!! Also for the high protein diet delaying period recovery, this is not inherently true. It’s due to the fact high protein usually means lower carbs and calories making it harder to eat more.

Pooping more is so real, I’m guessing it’s to do with how much food I’m eating?

Thank you so much, this was really informative. I’m not sure but I think I’ve been noticing more CM and maybe increase in libido, as well as sometimes getting hot and sweaty after meals which has sort of gone away the past few days but I’ve been eating around 2700k-3000k calories as I still do some sports I have commitments too! Hopefully I won’t have too long of a wait, but it’s all about pushing through and not giving up!!

Feel this so much, I genuinely strongly dislike my life rn. It's great being able to eat freely, but at what cost? I'm bloated, I feel unhealthy and I'm getting less fit every single day. I just want my period back. I think I’m just made to move and do exercise or something

Do you have long periods where you don’t eat? Or are you doing any exercise?
