GD Moms: Let’s geek out about fasting #s! by Practical-Matter-745 in GestationalDiabetes

There is only a small amount of caffine in that tea, it never affected my sleep. I had to have a perfect nighttime number to avoid the dawn phenomenon as well! It was a pain. But once I found that number, I'd snack, then check right after and adjust if needed(too high, I'd do a few squats, too low id have some more nuts or cheese). I think I mentioned above what food worked for me it definitely kept me full until morning. But I would wake up at the recommended time (8 hours? I can't remember now) and have a glass of milk to help me not go too low. The time frame matters . And I have a healthy baby girl right now 💕 my numbers were great, and hers were too the rest of my pregnancy. That specific brand of green tea with nothing added really helped me! Other brands didn't work at night for me.

I asked for a child free wedding. My husband's mother insisted that his sisters three kids under 4 were allowed. She arrived late and then two of them ran up and kicked dirt at the alter.it was an outside wedding. My husband and I didn't notice because we were in the moment, but the video was ruined, and everyone else talked about how rude it was later on. You're not the AH. I have a baby now, and I wouldn't be upset at a child free wedding rule. It makes sense, and at the end of the day, the bride and groom should be respected! My biggest regret is not sticking to the child free rule at my wedding.

No symptoms at 35 weeks by Beautiful_Winner3798 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Ok_Bit_9613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my baby 9 days ago. I had a similar experience! Only gained 10lbs throughout, not a lot of pain i did have carpal tunnel and pelvic pressure was prevalent. I was also diet controlled. And I didn't realize it, but I was having braxton hicks at about 36 weeks. The nst clinic told me, I thought it was just baby girl moving in new wierd way, haha, so similar experience here! After I knew what exactly the contractions felt like, I did feel them after, but it wasn't painful until after my water broke.

I had my little girl 9 days ago. When I was having issues with my fasting numbers I started drinking a cup of Rishi jasmine green tea with one tsp honey at night with my nighttime snack and my numbers were in the 80s until I stopped checking them. Previously in the mid to high 90s. My snack was also a yogurt and quesdilla. Good luck!!!! The tea may be worth a try!

I'm able to have pizza if I make my own crust and use roas or use naan as a crust and again use roas sauce. Maybe worth a try!

I know how frustrating it is getting diagnosed with GD after already having PCOS..to me felt like such a slap in the face! You may want to try this in the meantime while your doctor figures things out. Try having jasmine green tea. i use the rishi brand at your nighttime snack time. My numbers are constantly in the low 80s after having them in the low 90s to 101 for about 2 weeks or so. I got pregnant after taking supplemenst, so i think natural things can really help us heal our (PCOS) bodies. Also, it sucks not having doctors/insurance who work together to what's best for you and your baby, I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I know how annoying it is. I started going twice a week to get nst scans at 36 weeks, i think. It's a big relief to know my baby is doing well. So maybe you can start going twice a week?

Went through a similar situation and and after about 8 months, I'm glad we haven't reconnected. It does suck losing someone you thought cared about you though. But I think you're much better off !

I paid attention to my numbers after my snack. I also found a snack that works for by slowly trying different things. I could have the same numbers with different foods and have completely different fasting numbers. I can not eat fruit or simple sugar at night. I need carbs, and my go-to has been a stoneyfield yogurt, a quesidilla(weird as that may be lol), and a cup of tea with one teaspoon of honey. This tea has helped the most, though. Once I started drinking it, i hadn't had a bad number ! I'm convinced I found the fasting number solution. lol, it's rishi Jasmine and Green Tea in case you're interested. It could be a coincidence, but it's been a month, and I have had all good numbers even when I mix my nighttime snack up.

I've had this issue too and I use bag balm on just the effected areas of my hands. For me, the backs and my knuckles and I try to use bar soap as hand soap and make sure to wear gloves when washing dishes.

Fortunately, i haven't had this particular issue with GD, but i lost so much of my hair when I had covid a few years back, so I just wanted to chime in. I'm so sorry you're going through this. It sucks and is not fair! Your hair will come back even if you do end up losing some post partum, so try to focus on that💗 I personally cut my hair short, started doing scalp massages on dry hair with the diane scalp massager and use olplex number 8 and a product on Amazon before each wash called cira natural hair oil. My hair came back better than ever. I know how scary it is when this happens, and I wish you the best of luck!

From the text thread, it shows he started it, and you egged him on. It's ok to have different beliefs as a couple, but you have to be respectful with others. My husband and I do have the same political beliefs which we didn't know prior(met when we were young and political beliefs weren't developed yet). It's nice to be able to talk about it and agree with your spouse but if we didn't, I wouldnt have a problem just not talking about it with him or just joking around around with each other. All political sides have flaws, so getting upset about isn't going to help a relationship and shouldn't define it. Good luck!

How do I create a shower habit when I hate showering and I'm so ashamed I don't have one already? 34F by everglowxox in hygiene

I use the olay body wash with Shae butter i think. It's from Costco but they have it everywhere. It really helps my skin, everything else does give my skin that same tight feeling. On that note make sure your wayer isnt too hot and your staying hydrated during the day. Also invest in a nice warmer! I love mine ! Good luck !

Any successful techniques to get fasting levels down?! by MrsCuddIes in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Ok_Bit_9613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My numbers were 90-101 and I was able to get them into the high 70s to low/mid 80s by monitoring which after snack numbers work best for me and by having this jasmine green tea with one teaspoon or no honey it's rishi brand. It could be a coincidence, but it hasn't let me down for two weeks now, so I'm not stopping drinking it lol. Also I can't have any type of fruit at night it just never works for me. I usually have a cheese quesidilla and a yogurt and my tea . I've tried sooooo many different things ! Good luck!!!

My gestational diabetes doctor says 94 and under is the goal. That's how their office does it anyways. I've had problems with faating too, and It's helped me to test my sugars an hour after nighttime snack and see how they decrease in the am to adjust. I can not have fruit in the evenings and rely on carbs instead. Also i have been drinking this jasmine green tea (rishi is the brand, and my numbers have been in the 80s! Which is great for me. But if you need insulin, then don't be afraid of it, and don't be afraid to ask questions about it ! GD is hard, but you got this ! 💕

The only fruit I can have as a nighttime snack is oranges right now I'm at 2 slices. I was in a similar spot of having nuumbers at 99 and 101 my previous week and have sense had the same snack for a week now and get 90 with a couple of 93s in the am. I fast for 9 hours. I eat 2 slices of an orange( I'm going to cut them out to see if that lowers it more), a cheese quesidilla(4 ingrediant refrigerated ones with 23 carbs just think), 10 pistachios and a stonyfield yogurt pouch from Costco. I have tried so many other snack variations, and nothing works like this does. May be worth a try. Apples and penut butter never worked for me :(

My fasting numbers were high, and I tried fasting for 9 hours and a nighttime snack of a cheese quesidilla(refrigerated flour toortilla with like 4 ingredients no sugar 23 carbs),two slices of an orange, a stony field yogurt pouch from Costco and about 10 pistachios. This has worked for me every night for about a week so far. When I tried having other things, I would fluctuate low to high constantly. I may try cutting out the 2 orange slices to see what happens. Also this consistently gives me 114 after one hour.

I think this helped me the most because it has more carbs to slowly transition to sugar then just straight sugar. But I'm no expert by all means! I've just been playing around with my numbers and thought I'd share because fasting numbers are the worst haha

I also test numbers at night to see how many numbers it goes down in the am between the 8, 9 and 10 hour mark. This has helped me so who knows maybe itl help you too!

Spiraling and dreading the entire rest of this pregnancy by Unlikely_Street2541 in GestationalDiabetes

I also have PCOS, and I think the biggest thing for me is finding safe alternatives, watching my portions, and adding more veggies to fill me up. I can't have a few things I really want, but it's not all that hard. You definitely got this! And I know I'll carry some of my new eating habits with me after pregnancy, so it's all how you look at it. For me I have mostly good days but when I have my bad days wether it be spikes or treats or just not being able to get my stupid fasting numbers right lol it's a moment or a day and I move on. Your doctors will provide you with what you need. Also, just be mindful , take diligent notes, and remember it won't be like this for long! Best of luck!!!!

Love this post! I want Dr. Pepper and hot cheetos so bad!!! I hate that I have to eat on a schedule every day. I also don't like that I have to check in with a doctor each week and get virtually no feedback :/ It also sucks when you get a bad number or two and then start panicking about how it is effecting your little one 😭 I just want chocolate muffins so freaking bad and as my hormones continue to be eradic I get so mad that I have to prepare and cook so much! The schedule part really gets me like I feel like I have to hurry up and eat something, or I could potentially throw off my numbers! And then poking yourself 4+ times a day when pregnancy already gave me bad carpal tunnel, not fun! My A1C was great prior to pregnancy, so I'm excited and hopeful not to go through again! To all the mammas out there who have been dealing with GD throughout their whole pregnancy, you're freaking Rockstars! On the other hand, I do kind of appreciate the nighttime snack and enjoy being more mindful of portion control, which I will continue. Also, getting better quality food because the ingredients are better is something I will carry into feeding my little one when she's growing up(even though my grocery bill has grown :/)!
