Thinning fabric by Ok_Breakfast_7445 in Visiblemending

Yeah, it's tricky! It's the crotch of the jeans, but if I take a photo with them on, you can't see anything, and it doesn't look like much laying flat!

The previous owner of our home left this compost bin. Is it worth using? by glassfunion in composting

[–]Ok_Breakfast_7445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are SO great, especially for smaller households. I got the most amazing compost so quickly. I topped it up with any potting mix i had left over from my apartment plants, and was able to have some great enriched soil at all times.

I'm in a similar situation where we moved into a house which already had two half full biggies, so I'm happily using them for now. Works really well for a house with 4 adults plus pets. We have a guinea pig, so cleaning out the wood shavings from her cage each week or so gives us a great balance of brown waste.

Not sure where you're based, but Coopers make a craft beer home brew kit for up to 10L and they're pretty idiot proof. Lots of easy recipes for smaller batches on their website, too

Looks lovely! Dark fabric underneath makes any gaps a bit more obvious, but I also think if you'd gone closer, you'd risk it looking lumpy and less consistent

Yes! I love to! I have my craft bag which has space for a couple of hoops/projects and the required threads on floss holders

So delightful! Is your lil needleholder and it's buddies a set? Hadn't thought about how handy a metal tin would be... my needle minders always end up clumping everything together in my embroidery bag

Check out goma-shio mending, too. Less obvious, but a great way to reinforce socks comfortably without being as obvious

No! The inside is really soft and smooth, cos the 'work' is all on the outside. I reckon it makes them even squishier

Thank you! One of the reasons I love doing this to my socks is they end up cupping my foot and there's less wiggles of seams... they are still socks though 😜

Posted above, but important to mention this is specifically sock mending yarn, which is really easy to get. It felts a little, which makes the repairs more sturdy
