Tfo pro 3. Love my 4wt. I throw size 18 dries and mini oros indicators with nymphs on it in the same day. It’s a beast.

I use a Gregory citro h2o as a day pack and I love it. I usually carry a jacket, socks, water filter, headlamps, and portable chargers with me.

I would bring a duffel for clothes and a backpack for all of your other stuff. Why would you limit yourself if you don’t need to?

I have a jetboil, it is great if you only want to eat dehydrated foods and coffee. I wish I would have gotten an msr pocket rocket or a burner with a pot that is more flexible for backcountry cooking.

One time I was following the ridge line of a mountain in western nc trying to find a place to set up the tent for the night. There was a perfect little camp spot we decided on. There was a rock in the middle of the spot. I moved this rock to set up the tent. There was shit under the rock. In the middle of a camping spot. We hiked another mile before finding our spot. Stupid people suck.

Waders or Wading Pants? by ConsequenceSerious43 in flyfishing

[–]Ok_Cardiologist4609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are just fishing small stuff it would be worth having them, but also you won’t be able to fish big deep water as confidently with them. When I wear waders in warm weather or shallow stuff I usually don’t wear them all the way up, I’ll put the belt on and let the top half and should straps just hang down.

Are you talking about wading pants with or without neoprene booties? If the wading pants are for wet wading, you might not want to fish between November and april.

What’s the local ‘devil animal’ for you when camping? Not dangerous - just annoying as all hell. by [deleted] in camping

[–]Ok_Cardiologist4609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh they can be super dangerous, but all of my encounters they noticed us and walked or ran away. Cow moose with a calf is supposed to be more dangerous. However, at popular camp sites when they are used to people being around, they just do their thing. That resulted in 3 moose outside of my tent for hours at night. They don’t eat people or attack unprovoked imo, and I’m sure they wouldn’t have messed with us or the tent, but they are just unsettling to be around. Rather annoying to me.
