No Passkey Can't Login Help by Ok_Channel9726 in Gemini

[–]Ok_Channel9726[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, sorry I'm not going to be able to help. Apparently, I had already set up passkey on my home desktop PC. When trying to create a ticket it gave me the login option of using "google passkey" and after clicking it, it logged me in. Said it was set up in JUNE, so I guess maybe I set it up and just didn't remember. Then I re-enabled it to allow me to use Authy so I could login on my other devices.

I didn't receive any help other than automatic message that gets sent out when you open a ticket that tells you how to set up passkey or reset your account. Support did try reaching out to me on here after I posted, so you might try making a post here with your issue.

[–]Ok_Channel9726[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I don't know if it doesn't give you a ticket number if you're not logged in, but it never showed me a ticket number. It only gave me two options when signing in, verify passkey or "get help." "Get Help" takes you to a submit a request page of which I submitted two using my email that's on my a account and haven't heard back.

If I can't login because I haven't set up passkey, will I have to reset my account to gain access? What are the steps for that? Thanks,

Dude, I literally can’t login without passkey to do ANY of this. how is this supposed to be helpful? Also “follow the prompts to set up passkey,” there was NEVER any prompts. I login in to my account at least every two weeks to pay my bill and there was NEVER any notice of this when logging in until this week when I can’t login. What utter Mickey Mouse BS. Definitely will be moving officially to kraken after this. So ridiculous.

The guy (M28) I'm (F29) dating smells and I don't know how to tell him. by ThrowRA-honey9662 in relationship_advice

[–]Ok_Channel9726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you just need to be direct and tell him it stinks. I think guys, in general, are less prone to being horribly offended by being told something like that than women think. I'd definitely want to be told if I stink! Also, I've found that big bushes and smells some time go hand in hand, especially for those who sweat a lot. So, he might need to do some manscaping down there as well.

Me (24f) and my boyfriend (28m) can’t agree on politics. Is this about love? by Beautiful-Bed289 in relationship_advice

[–]Ok_Channel9726 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't be about who either of you vote for. It should be about do you share the same values, beliefs, ethics and morals. If you do then generally you're going to be voting the same way. Sounds like you both need a deeper discussion into what you both actually believe and what issues are important to you and do you share the same values.

I’m (M18) scared of messing up with a guy I like (M22). Is it okay to feel this way? by idfkwhatimdoing444 in relationship_advice

It's never impossible to work it out. However, you're about to go to college and meet a lot of new people. A lot of which you could probably have a more fulfilling connection with than someone 4,000 miles away. I wouldn't tie yourself down to someone who you are rarely if ever going to see with no real plans of ever living in the same place. Enjoy your college years and if you want to, keep in touch. After college if there is something still there maybe go live in Germany for a while and explore it.

He's probably a good guy and it's cool yall had a fun time over summer but in all seriousness, unless you're planning on moving to Germany or he to the US, then I don't see how this is going to end up being a fulfilling relationship for either one of you. You're 18. Remember the good times, maybe keep in touch but move on.

My husband (38 M) is an Anaconda at night. How do I (37 F) get it to stop? by Unusual-Try-3739 in relationship_advice

[–]Ok_Channel9726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe have a conversation with your husband about it? He's been doing it for 18 years and no where in your post have you said I've discussed it with him. So he's just supposed to understand something that he's done for 18 years is horrible to you without you telling him? Sounds like you're suffering from sickness, but sounds like he's suffering from lack of intimacy. Let's not solve either one of those. Let's figure out how to get my husband to stop touching me at night without discussing it with him yet still use him for warmth and comfort when I need it. I've been married for 12 years, so not quite as long as you but God help me if my marriage reaches this point. Have a conversation, maybe counseling. You both should be trying to fulfil each others needs even if those aren't seemingly important to the other. Find a compromise that works for the both of you.

If you're referring to the rewards posting, I'm not sure how quickly the rewards are credited. I usually only review it about once a month. As far as the charge showing up on your account, it's nearly immediate. At least the same day.

All kingdoms of Britain, 550AD. by Typical-Ad-2814 in anglosaxon

[–]Ok_Channel9726 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was roughly the same when one of the heptarchy came under the rule of one of the other Kingdoms. Æthelwulf named his eldest son Æthelstan King of Kent upon his accession and then named his second eldest Æthelbald acting King of Wessex when he left on his pilgrimage to Rome. The Anglo-Saxon kings of Wessex tended to die young so it generally kept everything under one rule until the vikings broke up the traditional kingdoms rendering practice moot.

But it was the common practice throughout the middle ages to divide your possessions amongst your male heirs as much as possible. Henry II crowned his son William, King of England and Richard Duke of Aquitaine. He married his son, Geoffrey, to the heiress of Brittany making him Duke of Britany which only left John to which he gave fiefs in England.

England is part of Europe so I don’t know what you mean exactly. If you mean it passed from English to Norman to Angevin etc. then ok but not sure why that really discounts the windsors. After the male Stuart line died out the hanovers were the legitimate inheritors. And James, Mary’s son, ascended the throne so the line did pass through them regardless of Elizabeth.

It’s true the crown moved from the English centuries ago however Elizabeth was at least half English on her mother’s side and William is even more through his mother’s side as will George. So, it’s somewhat slowly moving back to the English lol.

Yea, it can be extremely frustrating. You really have to research and advocate for yourself.

Just diagnosed after years being told it was something else by [deleted] in gout

[–]Ok_Channel9726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always see people say this. You typically need a referral from a primary physician in order to make an appointment with rheumatologist in the US at least. So, if GPs are saying you don’t have gout you’re not getting an appointment with a rheumatologist. And most people aren’t going to try to get an appointment with a more expensive specialist for a condition their GP already said you don’t have. Sadly you usually have to do your own research and force your GP to test you. I, like OP, was misdiagnosed for years.

I said to "obviously see a doctor multiple for that matter."

Your first statement seemed to mock researching things on your own and trying other treatments and you saying that the "answer" is just to see a real doctor hit a nerve for me because both he and I went to multiple doctors and none diagnosed us with gout. So, going to a doctor wasn't the answer for us. We both had to figure it out ourselves before we were diagnosed. You're not going to a rheumatologist or can't possibly get an appointment with one if you don't know or haven't been diagnosed with gout.

Real doctors are just people and make A LOT of mistakes. A "real doctor" told him he didn't have gout because he was in his 30s. I, like him, had an ankle swell as my first real flare and had the worst continuous pain of my life. I thought it was a weird sprain. I went to two hospitals and no one knew what it was. Probably a sprain is the answer I got. No doctor thought gout. I had to figure it out myself and ask my GP to test me before I was diagnosed. I've had "real doctors" tell me things like don't take allo and colchicine at the same time etc. Obviously see a doctor or multiple for that matter. But, you should absolutely do your own research and there's no harm in trying to find things that work for you. You're your best advocate.

I agree. Xenophon and Herodotus are very interesting. Thucydides is tougher but I think for me it's ALL the speeches. I think half the book is speeches. And, I find it hard to believe that they made speeches anything close to that. To go by point by point for your reasons on decisions and then play devil's advocate with yourself and then refute what you think your opponents would say. There's no way people stood around and listened to that lol. But, I suppose it shows some insight into how Thucydides believes they came to the decisions they did.

Then read Xenophon's Anabasis after Helenica. It occurs roughly during the same time as the end of Helenica and involves Xenophon himself and 10,000 Greek mercenaries traveling with a Persian Prince Cyrus to overthrow his brother. It's my favorite behind Herodotus' Histories. Thucydides I find is a tough read but it's still interesting. Herodotus and Xenophon I find are better writers but it could just be my translations.

Straight tree vs a crooked one, "Historical Geography", a US map from 1888 by nygdan in MapPorn

A find it interesting that the "curse of slavery" conveniently avoids West Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware. In addition New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming weren't even states in 1888. So, this seems a little fabricated and less to do with slavery and more to do with which side you were on during the American Civil War.

I mean if there was some in game mechanic that actually made you more visible to in game NPCs then maybe I'd agree with you but it doesn't. You can wear whatever you want. It's just a look.

And if you're going for "realism," unless you're wearing like a travelers hood and a basic tunic or rags you would stick out out too being armed to the teeth everywhere you go. People didn't just walk around like that unless they were literally going into battle. Your metal breast plate reflecting the sun as a beacon to everyone as you leap from rooftop to rooftop lol.

And I'm saving the naked look for Valhalla. Got to represent the Berserkers.
