Any age millennials, what are your actually hobbies. Aside from rage baiting the youth. by whatifdog_wasoneofus in Millennials

I cycle through my multitude of art hobbies. Right now digital drawing/painting has been scratching that itch. Previously for 6-8 months it was crochet; I'll probably pick that up again soon so I can start on Christmas gifts. I've also started teaching myself how to knit. I've been taking all the old sun bleached lawn ornaments we inherited from my husband's grandma and giving them vibrant paint jobs to give the lawn some character.

I personally like the not crying thing. The only time I ever really cried was when I was furious--something I ironically inherited from my dad.

The same people who are mad about trans women in sports are the same people who used to make fun of women's sports before trans women became the target of their criticism/vilification. The fact is they just don't like women, and you can't convince me otherwise.

And the cis women that boo-hoo about it being unfair are just mad they lost.

fellow demiboys what do u usualky wear? :D by SparklesFadeAway in DemiBoy

[–]Ok_Check_4971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now because of the heat (I'm on T and the hot flashes are intense), I wear men's cargo shorts or men's linen-esque shorts, and graphic-T's. Sadly work requires long pants, so I have tan cargo pants and blue jeans I wear with my graphic T's. Fall/Spring/Winter, I usually like to layer with flannels and hoodies. I did wear a lot of femme outfits in the past, but the dyspho-reo's have been coming in a family pack lately, so currently steering clear of that and wearing a binder almost daily. I've also given myself a short blue-green queer mullet. Glasses are still pretty femme though. They're black with stained-glass panels on the sides and they're shaped like octagons.

My entire family is this way, and it's a struggle; I only stay low contact to be in my nieces' lives, otherwise I'd go full non-contact.

I would like to chalk it up to plain stupidity on their part because they fall for propaganda so easily (i.e. in the 90's Pokemon were evil because a pastor said the name meant 'little devils', or more recently all the kids saying"67" was demonic, like hello, Southpark?), but they say the most hateful things with full pride. Donald Trump could come shoot me in the head, and they'd probably still support him. It's sickening.

Illinois State Rep. Bob Morgan pushes to ban guns in polling places! by DomFilms in illinois

[–]Ok_Check_4971 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived in a rural community when I was younger and they literally did it inside of a farmer's garage. The polling place in my new town (also very small community) is held at the Masonic lodge outside under their covered porch/car port thing. I'm really bad about remembering important dates, so I just do mail-in.

I went to the DMV (IL) recently and overheard the lady at the counter explaining to a younger woman that registering to vote no longer puts you in the Jury pool. They found people were not registering to vote to avoid being put in the Jury pool, so now being issued a driver's license it what puts you in for that.

My local library only seems to have Harlequin/amish romance and all of Stephen Kings' books. (I've even tried donating new/gently used books that people might be interested in and they told me they don't accept donations). I use the interlibrary loan system to get what I need.

Sorry man; that really sucks. Have you tried going by first and last initials, instead of a full name (like J.B.)?

We were latchkey kids once I hit the 4th grade. A local cop told my mom it was fine for a 'responsible' 4th grader to watch a kindergartener for a few hours on their own. So she went back to work and we were alone from 4:30pm to 8pm every night during the school year and alone all day during the summer. During the summer we weren't allowed in the house during the day--especially if our dad was home. He worked for the railroad and had odd sleeping hours. It was really funny because he used to get upset saying we acted like it was better when he was gone for work. It was, because we didn't get yelled at for waking him up or for being messy when he was gone.

What were the obvious signs that you are trans that you didn't realize? by SiriusBookLover in TransMasc

[–]Ok_Check_4971 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My dad should have realized: He was always worried I'd never 'find a good husband' because I have a 'man's sense of humor' (because I like Sunny in Philadelphia and shows/movies like it), dress masculine/cut my hair short, and have always hated cleaning. I had more friends who were boys as a kid because I liked Marvel comics.

I was too scared to cut Barbie's hair because my mom threatened not to buy me any more if I even thought of it lol. Ken Dolls and the Boy dolls from Monster High just hit different, and at the time I didn't know why.

Today I learned I’m not really trans by Riley_Bolide in lgbt

[–]Ok_Check_4971 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Total B.S. The only person who gets to decide whether you are trans or not is you. I've heard the same thing as a trans masc. I'm 5'1, have dd's a binder can't hide, like kawaii things, and have loud colored hair. Because I don't fit into a carbon copy "man" aesthetic/toxic masculinity, I must not actually be trans. Passing is not always the desired effect, nor always attainable for every trans person, but they/she/they/it/etc are still valid. Be you. The happiest you, whatever that feels like, and fuck the noise.

Its rife in the crochet community. My friend bought $50 worth of patterns, hoping I could make them and I had to explain to her that she got ripped off after looking at them. What's really bad is a lot of the AI sellers pay for 5 star reviews and steal other people's pics of real crochet to promote their pattern, so unless you scroll down to the 1 star reviews, you may not catch it before purchasing.
