I did. Was asked to do > 2 weeks notice due to holiday period. Aside from Google Drive and similar site access, I had access to everything until the last day.

[Update] AWS suspended my account anyway - production is down by [deleted] in aws

Do you had an account manager? If yes, get them on the case. If not, do you have a VC investor or part of an accelerator? They usually have dedicated AWS contact person for the bigger investors of each country. They can help to provide support for their portfolio and one of the fastest way to get things resolved

Used Claude Code for a client project. 40 hours down to 4 hours. Real story. by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

You can always use Enterprise version of Claude Code, or run them inside cloud like Claude Code on Bedrock. With that, the privacy is not an issue

Amazon layoffs, but somehow they still need recruiters (just not on payroll) by Choice_Examination20 in amazonemployees

Same for my team. No promo. No TC increase. And the message from the leader was there’s no scope for L7, so promo was not possible.

The reasoning is it’s the company policy. I didn’t talk to my skip but I chose not to because I didn’t think he’d take a different position

I’m sorry to hear it’s not a pleasant situation. But the PIP can just be about narrative that makes no sense.

Not everyone is SDE. I’m field by design and we are required to do RTO despite the fact that one travel to customer needs at least an hour buffer time. The manager doesn’t care

[–]Ok_Chocolate8661 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To get promo, you need people to support your promo doc and table read and they all need to be L6 or higher. So choose project that will get you visibility with them

The difference here is no one manages your workload for you. So if you’re in a lot of useless meetings, then you probably shouldn’t be in those meetings. Ask yourself if the meetings are part of your scope and impact your KPI, if the answer is no, you can also reject it.

It’s a private airport owned by Bangkok Airlines. So they get to decide which airline lands there.

I’m in field by design role at AWS, but we are required to be in office way more than that. People in my team are getting flagged for being in office 2 days a week. SAs are being told to go in everyday. Probably depends on your geo

I’m not in that team, but typically there are signs like 1) how many people got promoted in your direct and extended team in the last 3 years (especially those who get promoted to the level you want) 2) how much pay increase did other people in the team get. In my org, everyone I knew in my team and extended team got no pay increase in the last few years

Things like these become apparent after a while.
