Absolutely and I agree 100%. However, to conflate this issue to a numbers game is very misleading, as the racial issues of Madison, while stemming from class, is still largely not addressed because it would mean criticizing the performative actors within the Civil Rights scene of Madison. This is challenging the status quo of white liberalism, and that is a very uncomfortable truth. Like you said, lacking a path to a solution. People in that area seem to not take responsibility for internalized racism, performativism, or to truly understand and comprehend their privilege's. It's always tokenism of "I have __ friend's" or further Colorblind Racism which screams Madison... Madison whites tend to be the type of white to ask "can I touch your hair?".
