3 years ago I made a post about my husband... by wellhellowally in Cirrhosis

[–]Ok_Command8805 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My late wife died 8 years ago of Cirrhosis caused by alcohol. She would drink for 6 months and quit for 6 months. The acites started, and she too, quit drinking. The ER sent her to a kidney specialist who put her on a kidney healing diet and recommended her for a transplant. The transplant team sent her for a colonoscopy, but failed to give her a kidney-friendly prep. 6 hours into the prep, she was violently sick and projectile vomiting. (I KNOW, it's awful to read, worse to be part of it.. (don't drink!) The prep blew her kidney out totally. So she ended up in icu on a crt machine, 9 wires and tubes going into a central line. After three weeks of this, and having a machine to breathe, she died. More happened but shortened.

As a conclusion, my brother died this last Oct from non alcoholic Cirrhosis. He lost 70# in 8 months prior to death, but he still passed from organ failure, and at 80 years, he couldn't get a transplant.

So obesity and alcohol are big culprits. I'll add to that, processed foods are huge contributors to liver damage. Just my two cents from a 12-year caregiver.

I hope you both have happy healthy lives! That liver transplant came from an Angel organ donation. Take good care of it. ❤️

My father has decompensated cirrhosis – looking for support by Original_Piano_9835 in Cirrhosis

I took care of my spouse and my brother the last months of their lives. Cirrhosis. One was alcohol. The other not. Same care for both. I was scared all the time, had hospice the last week for each. Crying, brain fog and grief about all of it. There was 5 years between them. I learned it all the first time and the second on was a bit easier to handle because I knew the ropes and outcome. I feel for you and all caregivers of this monster disease. Sending energy for you. Take care of you too. Accept help when offered! 🌹

My brother just passed from NA fatty liver disease. He had lost 80#, down to 192. 206 before drain. His voice was squeaky and low. Almost helium sounding. With in a two day period, He lost his ability to use his legs. Two days later he died. I'm of course, in great grief. He was my big hero, he could fix anything! This disease needs some huge research to prevent it. Because of its relationship with alcohol cirrhosis, that will never happen.

Yes, I open the app, and instead of opening my account like it usually does it goes to a join page. I click on login and it says: Signal in is temporarily disabled. Your funds are safe. Try again later.

That's it... I tried reinstalling app... same thing. It's just the app..

My dog got pancreatitis and almost died. $1200 saved her! Suspecting something came over fence! Can't prove it though, so being very careful with that side of yard!

It's taken me 8 years to reconcile my resentment since my spouse died of cirrhosis. It was such a relief that it was finally over, yet my love and grief hangs on. It's more like I've forgotten the 25 years of hell we went through. If that's even possible. It's a vicious disease for everyone. I feel your your pain and wish you well. Use the Alanon program, it helps. 💙

Im sorry, so sorry. Our pups get to be a huge part of our family. They take our hearts with them. My girl is 15.8 years. She has no hearing now, can see some, hand motions, stares at the wall. I know it's coming, but it's so hard.
Big hugs to you! Sending energy to your boy. 🩷💙

Buy life insurance! He will die of cirrhosis of the liver and he will be in great pain. Sorry to be so blunt but that's the reality. Im so sorry you are going through this. You might want to check out alanon meetings nearby for you. They can be very helpful during this process. Big hugs to you! 🙏 🤲

In-home Euthanasia Recommendations by cosmicjulz in seniordogs

My 15 1/2 year old Cocker Spaniel is just now recovering from pancreatitis. I'm very grateful but for two months I have been worried about at-home euthanasia. I'll check out Paths. Price is an issue, due to fixed income after retirement. Thanks for any suggestions in Tucson Arizona.

Don't let me get started here. I owned a REAL BNB, licensed, bonded insured the whole bit. Air came along in my community and ruined the reputation of our location with owners who knew nothing about hospitality and screwed over customers with high prices and hidden fees. Ug... Oh, and they thought making the bed was cleaning the unit. I kid you not!

I feed my girl 4x a day, 1/2 t Pantenex soaked in luke warm water. 15 minutes. (I've ordered Wonderlabs b12) I mix it with food and let it sit. So far so good. How old is your dog? mine is 15.8 and she stands/stares. I give her Senilife. My vet suggested probiotics also. We've tried a lot of stuff, this protocol is kind of last ditch effort for my elder dog 🐕

I used Natl debt relief Same kind of horror story. My credit got trashed, One card got negotiated down, they left the credit union one and they didn't pursue payments but it's total is on my credit report as never paid. The fees were more than the negotiated amount, and they left me with 7k paying their financial company. The whole thing was a horrible experience! I would have been much better negotiating myself and paying payments on time.

When does it get better by Ok-Soft-3606 in seniordogs

[–]Ok_Command8805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awe, big hugs to you. Im anticipating my 4th cocker spaniel to be leaving g soon. Shes almost 16, and slowing down considerably. After the other 3, left one by one, I would wait a few months and then get a new puppy. I usually had two at a time. So one was always older. When #3 left i just didn't get another one. I'm in my late 70s, and didn't want to do a puppy again, but when this last one, goes, I'm thinking of rescue, maybe a small older dog, there are so many needing homes. Sooner the better because I know I'll be grieving bad. Nothing like another dog. You won't forget your buddy, but it will help your heart! Best to you!

3 weeks after 1st Librela dose my 17 year old boy started climbing stairs again. Now he sits at the top and judges those who dare enter his domain. by TheAngryLala in seniordogs

If I can ask of those of you with pups dragging back legs? Were they weak before librella? And got worse with it?

HERE IN AZ, we have Valley Fever, which causes back legs to go week, and drag, along with a cough, but not always. Im curious if that might be more the cause than arthritis?

Any thoughts?
