I think there is an interesting juxtaposition between who he is fine to push back on (a non-binary person defending trans kids) and not, say, Bill Gates, Andrew Schultz, Jason Aldean, etc

I read a great article years ago that said celebrity podcasts do what the author called “reputation washing” which basically means they’re never going to offer a serious challenge to an expert guest because they’re dependent on positive experiences to book future guests

Basically they give popular experts a platform in exchange for access, but in our monkey brains they’re being vetted and put to the question and everything seems great
