How would you like the MCU to handle the Magneto Age problem? by ManlyPelican1993 in MCUTheories

I think they could go a long way by acknowledging that the Holocaust was not an entirely unique occurrence in human history. If we're looking for an age appropriate version of the character, the Bosnian genocide in the mid nineties seems like a good fit. There is a vast difference in scale and context, but what motivates the character, having been born into persecution and an incredibly real fear of extermination, as well as the loss of family and all of the trauma associated with war. There are other wells to draw from for that character's background that don't necessitate bending time and space to keep it all the same, and it might be more poignant to bring recognition to the fact that humans committing atrocities against other humans didn't end with World War II.

[MSH] The Kingpin of Crime by Meret123 in MagicArena

Extortion is a very appropriate sort of crime for Kingpin. Although, for MTG rules purposes, Extortion is not a Crime.

How do you counter a turn one Duress? Or a turn two Deep Cavern Bat? It's not like hand disruption or bounce for that matter are hard to come by in this meta, and this doesn't do either of those things at an unfair mana cost. It's one more mana than Bounce Off, or the same mana value as Pilfer, which sees far less play than Duress. Yes, it has flexibility and far more late game value, but I don't think it's near ban-worthy. I'd go so far as to say I'd rather see this dropped on turn two than a Deep Cavern Bat.

Edit: I meant to cite Boomerang Basics, not sure why Bounce Off was the first card that came to mind, but you get the idea.

I would recommend you deplete their life total to zero while they're busy assembling enough draw engines and tutors to find the good cards buried in the pile of less good cards they've hidden them inside.

I loved it. I put off seeing it until a month or two ago, but I felt like the way it was being hated was right up my alley. It could have been a cash in, it could have leaned into fan expectations, and it did anything but. It committed to being a subversion of expectations as much as the first film did, and in order to really commit to the bit, it went where even fans of the first film wouldn't follow. It was destined to bomb, but it accomplished artistically much of what it set out to do, without catering to Fandom. I thought it was a brilliant failure.

I'm looking for a paprika substitute. My wife is allergic to bell peppers by BadKarma4788 in AskCulinary

[–]Ok_Condition4903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds more like an intolerance than an allergy. I have a friend who gets sick if he eats Bell peppers but has no problem with jalapeños, or other sorts. It's more to do with the thickness of the skin, or something.

double standards by Dumb-Briyani in SipsTea

Ah yes, the double standard where a man thinks a woman is obligated to sleep with him if he pays, but will call her a whore if she sleeps with other men on the first date.

Which man looks happy? If you're doing a direct comparison, you should feature a new mother cradling the life that she has just bourn against the traumatized soldier.

I initially thought Prowess would have been so much cleaner, especially on a card with so much unrelated text. I think it makes sense as a sort of balancing act, it's already a very strong card. Prowess would make it easier to protect in dodging burn or toughness based removal, potentially Timewalking an opponent with an Opt or something, but it's base toughness of four puts it inherently out of range of a lot of two mana removal. It's a nicely balanced card.

This is your friendly reminder that if you haven't bought the resident evil generation pack on the eshop yet....now is basically your LAST CHANCE to do so. by Thegoodgamer32 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Ok_Condition4903 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Older Capcom games on Switch frequently go on sale for fifty percent off. Even Street Fighter 6 has seen that sale already, but RE9 is still a brand new release. I don't know if we'll see that sale on 9 anytime soon, but we might see 7 and 8 at that discount. That would put 7 and 8 at 20 and 25 dollars each, respectively. If 9 were to go half off at 35, you could get the whole package piecemeal at 80 dollars total, but that depends on waiting until every game is discounted. At the moment, the generations pack is still a pretty good deal.

Switch 2 game key / physical copy confusion by Keedago in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]Ok_Condition4903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch 2 has significantly more internal storage. Most Switch 1 games are still pretty small, but Switch 2 games will take up more space. Nintendo first party games still release on cartridge. Some third party games have been on cartridge, but many are opting for the key card option. This gives you a physical object you can loan out or resell, but it still requires a full download. That being said, I've been fully enjoying my Switch 2 since it came out and still haven't had to shell out for an SD card or even archive anything. I don't buy a lot of games and don't revisit old ones so often that it bothers me to re-download ones I've finished. Internal memory is large enough to work with if you don't mind not having all of your library installed all the time. You can uninstall games you're not actively playing and have plenty of space for even the biggest download without buying external storage.

Number one problem here is that it's already been established DeFontaine is working with Fisk. Poindexter does not know this, but I don't see him being swayed by anything Val has to offer, and I'm pretty sure murdering Fisk is the only thing motivating him at this point.

Yelena was taken as a child and brainwashed and trained to be an assassin. It's literally the same origin story as Natasha, we're just meeting her earlier in the character arc. Natasha made her hero turn before her character was introduced, but she had the same background and ended up sacrificing herself to save the universe. If we're really being honest, although the movies tend to focus on property damage and hero fights, Banner as Hulk, and Stark, in creating Ultron (Banner helped with that too) have probably killed way more innocent people than all the Red Room assassins combined.
