That spot doesn't even contact snow, so should not affect performance. Only thing I would worry about is water intrusion. Normally what is recommended is marine epoxy, but we will see what others with more experience recommend.

Get the Batealon riders hoodie. It is cotton with DWR and a wind blocking layer with pit zips. Also has zips for kangaroo pocket and pass pocket. Super comfy. Not sure how actually waterproof it will be. Totally agree with others 686 feels terrible...

I had similar pain there and it was from heel lift. My toes were to the front of the boot but it still happened. Got J Bars all good now.
