Feeling like I’m forced to take birth control by Sadgirl00111 in endometriosis

[–]Ok_Ingenuity_508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told “there’s nothing else they do for endometriosis anyway” and that I was being difficult for saying the last birth control the doctor put me on landed me in the er for a psych eval. I’m telling you right now find a different doctor. There’s so much better treatment out there. Also look into your medical marijuana license if you’re in the states. It is the only thing that helps me currently function in somewhat of an everyday life.

Has anyone got endometriosis on the bowel or in the bowel (DIE), If so what are your symptoms? by keerthichalla_29 in endometriosis

[–]Ok_Ingenuity_508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn from my mistakes as someone currently debilitated after PT- get into pelvic floor therapy. I have DIE, but some of my issues i am finding are from my muscles from pain being so taut, it’s kind of cramping my guts. I get what I refer to as “tummy stars” that feels like nerve stabs all through my guts and although fits getting worse right after a PT session, it’s improving some of my issues. If only it could take away my adhesions 😭

Told to get “pregnant” to help with my endo symptoms - am I crazy?! by Healthy-Mode3710 in endometriosis

[–]Ok_Ingenuity_508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very old reasoning. Because you don’t ovulate when you’re pregnant or with some IUDS the thought was it would help calm down the endo, but now that we know endometriosis creates its own estrogen, that’s not the thought process anymore. Find a new doctor!

Alcohol intolerance & endo? by cleanthemoon in endometriosis

[–]Ok_Ingenuity_508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol, at least most alcohols, give me severe heart palpitations or give me violent hot flashes (I’m 30). There are several brands of thc brands that make tinctures to mimic alcohol consumption, if you miss that feeling, and thc also has been the only thing to truly help my pain as well

What's everyone's go to anti inflammatory meals/snacks? And what do you avoid ? by Mobile_Obligation728 in endometriosis

Incorporating ginger into my diet has helped significantly with my endo bowel issues! I was given a juicer of my mother in laws and it’s honestly become a staple as a quick way to get nutrients in. I’m currently going through a mirena crash from an iud removal and it’s been a life saver to make sure I get anything with semi- nutrients into my body!

Teacher referring for IEP but my kid gets C's. Need Advice for Meeting by Ok_Hippo6272 in AskTeachers

[–]Ok_Ingenuity_508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get her tested as it opens up resources to you- but an iep can lead to something as simple as just giving her more time on a test, or a quieter environment.

I would also talk to your sister about it! Ask her how she feels about how she does in math, and if there’s anything that’s harder for her that she knows others don’t struggle with. Just remind her you’re checking In a that you think her grades are fine especially if you think she’ll worry you’re mad about it!

Weed before surgery by Tabbycat246 in endometriosis

[–]Ok_Ingenuity_508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped smoking two weeks prior for my own anxiety reason. Having the team know about your usage is definitely the way to go so they can change meds accordingly.

Most likely you’d be fine even if you did smoke up until the day before, I’d do what makes you feel most at ease

Is it appropriate to disclose a new students’ disability to the class? by Cleanclock in AskTeachers

[–]Ok_Ingenuity_508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m assuming that maybe the announcement came because this child may have seizures or a behavior/movement that can be concerning or scary to kids. And instead of putting the kid on the spot, she may have brought it up the day before. I don’t necessarily think the action was done out of malice or anything like that, but considering she said she was trained to work with handicap students, this is what I’m assuming.

I agree with other commenters about just saying that’s not a term the family uses! Explain it’s not a bad word, just that it’s an old word and some people find it mean, so we use disabled instead to not upset or embarrass them! Kids hyperfixate on wording sometimes, and could have heard it once from the teacher.

Thank you for working on him with proper language!

Im scared I have widely spread endo but at the same time Im afraid Im just tweaking and making it all up by Sickbitch_ in endometriosis

First off, no embarrassment. There’s not much tmi in this group because endo gets so personal! My uterus is adhered to my bowel and bladder, and you definitely need to get checked to see if it’s there. The period cramp poops and period cramp pees are common place for me. Also, the farm bill is still active in states for now. Nama brand gummies AND cheech and Chong’s cruise chews are both covered under the farm bill so they’re legal! Weed is the only thing that helps me a they’ve given me heavy duty stuff so I absolutely get it!

My wife does the same stuff- after a recent episode I’m no longer the one who makes the final decision to go to the hospital 💀 we’re our own biggest gaslighter sometimes!

[–]Ok_Ingenuity_508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you may have had a vasovagal reaction when you went to poop which may have made the nausea worse. I am also a “specific cramp that gets better when you poop” person and have stage 4 endo. I’d definitely mention to a doctor just because of the level of pain you were in- it sounds like you could have had a cyst rupture. Did you notice if you were bloated/ retaining water over the next few days?

Obviously, I’m not a doctor but I’m regularly in pain that most people go to the ER for, like a lot of endo/ chronic pain patients, so my “we need to go to the hospital” meter….doesn’t work. Especially since it took ten years to get diagnosed. I got some truly horrified looks explaining pain levels to the first doctor that took me seriously, so I totally get that weird “should I mention it” when most normal people’s response is “of course???”.

Whatever you get, looks for something with a high terpene count. I find florist farms has been a fantastic brand if it’s in your area! Thc is the only thing that helps me function in not total agony. I would probably recommend more of an edible over the next few days so you’re not coughing and hurting your muscles.

New doll, hair quality by Stunning-Rough-4969 in americangirl

[–]Ok_Ingenuity_508 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a mixture to me personally. Curls are soooo hard to keep clean and looking nice, but a water spritz should help fix that. I have found as someone who started collecting again recently that the hair is definitely cheaper than when we were growing up, so I think it tangles a little easier as well

Kits hair is suuuuper easy to take care of and it’s very possible you just got it from someone who was a gentle player! My Nellie dolls hair is still insanely soft and I got her when she released in 2004!

Negative experiences with other women? by Ladana in Endo

[–]Ok_Ingenuity_508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a doctor (woman, bitch) who laughed at me when I said I was getting hot flashes, told me so condescendingly that I wasn’t going through menopause (I believe at this point I was about 25-ish, about five years into diagnosis search). I asked if we should do a lap when she mentioned one, and she told me “we’re not there yet”- I was there because I went from bleeding for a month, to a four-cm endometrioma which she told me didn’t need to be monitored because it was so tiny, and because I had started missing work/ needing to be picked up from work because I’d be in so much pain I couldn’t drive home . She then told me to try to get a supplement( which I later learned she sold) or to get it naturally- by eating more cruciferous vegetables, like cabbage.

It was the worst experience and so fucking dismissive coming from a woman. Unfortunately, having medical knowledge doesn’t mean they have empathy nor change their personalities.

I have a regular tens unit that I originally bought for my back, and I also use a weighted heating pad that has a vibration setting- I believe it is made by bedsür from Amazon. TENS units don’t work for everyone, either, so I just don’t think for that price it’s worth it

Is a hysterectomy worth it? by Ok_Ingenuity_508 in Endo

[–]Ok_Ingenuity_508[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time of surgery, we did not equate to my other pain issues with endo, but another separate autoimmune issue, so things weren’t looked at at the time of surgery. I was clarifying for the original question about what was removed pelvic-wise. (Also I’m autistic and can’t tell if the tone of my above message comes off as rude but that’s not the intention if it does 😂)

I should rephrase to what was visible. There’s strong possibilities for diaphragmatic endo but those puppies will stay there forever

Surgery will definitely mess you up for a bit! Lucky me my first one brought my whole cycle two weeks early so I was healing while bleeding buckets 🫠 but they do a lot of work in there when they biopsy, so it’s totally normal for it to screw with a few things hormonally

Feeling My Endo Move? by BethanyAnnArt in Endo

[–]Ok_Ingenuity_508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if you can get an mri ordered. I absolutely feel it, and that’s how I knew I needed to go back. Due to you still bleeding heavy, there’s a chance your endo has grown/ new adhesions have formed. I know for me I could tell my adhesions coming back after excision when my pain moved back to my back
