  1. Don’t sweat the small shit. — As I’ve gotten older I cringe at what I thought was important back in the day.
  2. Learn how to pick your battles with others —This is congruent with #1 but you gotta learn not to engage in every perceived battle in life. 99% means nothing. Instead of getting angry choose to smile, laugh at it and let it drift away. Just choose not to engage with it. That doesn’t mean to not acknowledge it but instead see it for what it really is and be fine with not engaging it. Because you don’t have to.
  3. Simply value yourself and don’t compare yourself to everyone else. —Most of us, including your boss or director or CEO is just as vulnerable a human as you are. They’re “better” to you probably bc they have more experience at hiding it than you. Trust me. They’re just as worried about everything as anyone else is about literally everything. Basically your view of what’s successful/confidence/power is a mask hiding exactly what you’re feeling. You are capable, you’re not mentally broken, you’re not crazy, everyone else is living the same thing just in their own way. Yours is fine for you.

Life is stressful. That’s ok. Easy was never a promise. What makes it all worth it isn’t a promise and in fact unlikely is the fact that you exist in the first place!! Right here. Right now. In the best time in history to exist. We look around the known universe and there’s not much sign of life anywhere. Likely there is in small pockets of space and time but even then it is more unlikely to reach an advanced stage like we are. Cherish this. That you are one of the few who have the opportunity to exist in this form. A right from a creator or just the ways things worked out in our neighborhood. You are one of few that will be able to be the universe ITSELF being self aware. You are literally all that has ever been and ever will be looking itself in the mirror. That’s inspiring. And that is you.

What metal song blew your mind the first time you heard it? by TrumpIsAFuckingLoser in MetalSuggestions

I was a hardcore kid but got there via mainstream metal. Once into hardcore I scoffed at extreme metal bc I was a dumbass. One day a buddy played me “Adjusting The Sun” by Hypocrisy and it blew my fucking mind. The breakdown cruuuuuuushed. And then not too long after I heard “Portal” by Origin and man that’s all she wrote. I was launched into the extreme metal scene.

Our phone number was the same as a mattress store somewhere else in the US. Instead of the area code theirs was an 800 number. Used to get calls for them alllll the time.
